I recently had the pleasure of visiting Yutagawa Onsen in Yamagata, which has been open for 1300 years. Yutagawa Onsen is a ``National Recreation Hot Spring Area'' designated by the Ministry of the Environment, and is also famous as a hot spring resort. The place we stayed at was Kuhei Ryokan, which has a hot spring water of about 1,000 liters per minute and is known for its delicious food. This is a hot spring lover who can visit all the hot springs, including 2 large baths and a private bath in the main building, 3 private baths each in the sister buildings "Tamaya" and "Masuya", and the front bath of the communal bath. An irresistible inn.The food is also delicious. The maisonette type ``Manmaruzuki'' was a theater room with two massage chairs between the boards on the first floor, and a luxurious room.By the way, this is also a hot spring connected to author Shuhei Fujisawa, and you can also borrow books and DVDs. Some works may have been created while looking out at a Japanese garden where koi carp swim gracefully.

I feel like the amount of food is a little too much. It's a high-class hotel, so I think it would be better to reduce the amount a little...The dinner food came out late, and there was a gap between the dishes. Because it's long, you'll be full and won't be able to eat the next dish. It's a shame because it's such a nice inn!

I stayed here for one night on a trip to Tsuruoka Sakata as a gift for my parents.I had wanted to take a goldfish bath for a while, so I chose this place. It's a pretty lonely hot spring town, but I'm doing my best in it.I chose a room with a hot spring source attached to it.It's not an open-air bath, but when you open the window and enter, you can see the Shonai Plain and it feels good.In addition to that, I took 6 baths including a large public bath, a private bath, and a sister hotel!A very clean colorless and transparent source is poured into every bathtub. What impressed me most was the food. I was particularly impressed with the assortment of appetizers, corn mousse, and sea bream chazuke. It was beautiful and everything was delicious. This is one of the top-class accommodations I've ever stayed at.We also participated in a firefly tour at night. They will take you nearby by car. I feel like it's the first time in my life that I've seen a firefly!I saw about 30 shining lights. There were signs everywhere warning of bears...I'm worried about the damage caused by the heavy rain the other day...I would like to visit again in a different season!

2024.07.29I came to eat Shonaiiwa oysters. The rock oysters were so big, juicy and delicious. I was surprised that each piece cost 1,650 yen, which is more than twice the size of other places. It was worth coming to eat.2023.08.21Always kindAnd the food is delicious.Especially the breakfast is wonderful. White rice is delicious. The hot water is so soft that you'll want to soak in it again and again.2023.02.18I had a lot of fun in Shonai in winter. The surrounding area is snowy. But feel warm in the hot springs. The food is great.2022.10.29No matter when you come, you will be healed by the hospitality here. The food is also great. The unique salmon roe rice (Yukiwakamaru) was delicious.2022.08.03Yutagawa Onsen ♨️ Hot water is goodSodium/calcium-sulfate hot springph8.7 42.2℃A wonderful inn where you can relax and check in at 2pm.2021.08.05Great hospitality. It's a wonderful inn.The food, both dinner and breakfast, is very delicious, with a focus on local ingredients. In particular, Shonai rice, specially cultivated rice Yukiwakamaru is made into Tai Chazuke in the evening, and Tsuyahime in the morning.I'm so moved just to be able to say this. And the hot springs are also amazing. The amount of hot water from the source is abundant, and every time you soak in the bathtub, the water overflows...This luxury. It was the best.

The meal was delicious. Corn mousse is the best! All the employees were smiling and we had a great time.2024-7 addedVisited again for the first time in 3 years.I had high expectations, but the food was still delicious. Corn mousse is the bestIt's all tatami, so you can walk around barefoot. The stairs are steep so it might be difficult as you get older. I want to come again while my legs are still strong. The hot spring, which looked like an aquarium, was scary because it felt like the fish were observing it.

Everything was great. ★5 is not enough.Kyubey Ryokan (main building) has three types of hot springs: river bath, mountain bath, and private hot spring. In addition, guests can use the three types of Kyubey Ryokan (annex), nearby footbaths, and public baths for free. The river hot spring in the main building was impressive, and I chose this inn for the hot springs. There is a huge aquarium inside, with goldfish swimming gracefully. It is a large Shonai goldfish and I felt that it was friendly and was being raised with care. The mountain bath had a statue of a rabbit and was soothing, and it also had an open-air bath that felt good. The private hot springs were also kept clean, and as with all hot springs, they were fully stocked with make-up remover, shaving, facial cleansing foam, lotion, hair cream, etc. The temperature was a bit hot and comfortable, so I turned on the air conditioner and fan in the changing room to cool down.I was also happy that there was a cold water server right next to the hot spring. The cleaning was thorough everywhere, and the employees were kind and warm. There were carp swimming gracefully in the garden, and I enjoyed just looking at them. For dinner, each item on the menu was carefully selected, and I was impressed by the delicious dishes that can only be eaten here. However, the dinner on the first day was quite large and took a long time to finish, and my companion who was staying with me ended up getting sick from eating so much. Then, the staff at the inn suggested that we could have the 8-part course, and they took great care in the details, such as when to serve dessert and when to refill the tea, which made me really happy. It may be difficult to access by public transportation, but if you rent a car from Tsuruoka Station, you can get there in about 20 minutes.I am so grateful for the rice I received as a thank you for completing the survey and for carrying my carry-on case to my car. This is a nice inn to stay at. I would like to stay again if I have a chance.

I stayed with my wife to try the seasonal rock oysters.Although it was a relatively small inn, it was a high class inn with great care and great facilities.I chose the smallest room, so it didn't feel cluttered, but I was able to relax enough and was satisfied with the high standard of everything, including the bath, meals, and lobby.Unfortunately, it was raining so I had to skip the night firefly viewing tour, but I heard that I was able to see fireflies later, so I would definitely like to participate next time.I was also able to take a bath with a view of the private bath at a nearby sister hotel if it was available, and it was a special experience to take a bath while looking out at the expansive view.It feels like a little-known hot spring where senior couples can relax and spend time quietly, and I would definitely like to visit again.
