YCMA hotel in Tokyo is a real value for money. The place is a bit old and a little run down but up keep is good and the space the rooms offer are really good. You couldn't ask for better for the price! A very nice quiet part of town. …

It's a little difficult. The price is super low so I don't expect much but for less money I could have gone to a capsule hotel which would have been cleaner. Don't get me wrong, the staff is the only reason this place gets two stars instead of one. The breakfast is okay as it is cheap as well. But the rooms are a disaster. Old is okay but they are definitely not clean. There are stains all over the carpet so that I did not want to take my shoes off at all. The shower is so small, that you should not be taller than 1,80m and on my last night there, I found a large bug in my room even though the window was closed at all times. Well, next time I will no better. The only thing that made it endurable was the frienldy staff.

Very friendly staff, good location, private rooms. The toilet and showers are quite basic compared to other hostels, but they are private instead of shared. There is only one washer and dryer so it can be tricky to line up a good time, as a full load of drying can take hours. Overall, would stay here again, but is basic compared to other hostels. If the price is right though, go for it! :)

It was a jewel! If I were to return to Tokyo for holiday I shall like to stay there. It is value for money. I love the location as it is near lots of good food and the subway systems - JR and Tokyo Metro lines.  …

YMCA Asia youth centre was a little difficult to find on the map. I had to use two different navi apps to find it. ||The room was nice for a solo traveler with one carry-on. …

Rooms were old and outdated, walls were stained and dirty, breakfast was terrible. It felt like we were stuck in a 1950's Russian Ski Lodge. Would not recommend even for the price. I have stayed in so many nicer hostels and business hotels in Tokyo for the price.

For the price (about $90), this place is great. My wife and I (mid 50s) stayed here for 3 nights. Location is wonderful, central Tokyo, 12 min walk to Ochanomizu JR station and 10 min walk to Suidobashi JR station. Fantastic staff. Some speak English. Rooms are spacious although the carpet is a little old. A good breakfast is only 200 yen each. Wifi works in lobby but not so well in our room. Recommended.

If I could give this place a lower grade I would. Lets start with the positives. #1. friendly and helpful staff, and that's the only plus side to this place. The negatives, very outdated everything if not outdated then beat up. …
