I used it this month. The air conditioner in the private room was charged at ¥100/hour, but the washing machine was free. The dinner, which was praised by other people, was a very nice sharing style ♫

It's a lovely guest house. The sea is within walking distance from this guesthouse, and you can see the sunrise over the ocean. At night, the sky is full of stars. When you get out of the sea, you can go straight to the shower room and stay clean. The room is kept clean, stylishly decorated, and has relaxing music, making it a great space. We recommend the dishes prepared by the owner's wife. (You can choose whether or not)Not only was it well-balanced, but the colors were beautiful and I looked forward to eating it every day.If you pay extra, there are various options (such as transportation), which was very helpful for me as I came without any plans! There was a day when we could see a meteor shower during our stay, and the owner, Mr. Shige, told us the best time to see it, and he also took care to make sure we could enjoy it by telling us about the ocean, sunset time, and recommended places. I felt it.They made sure that the people staying there could communicate with each other, and it was very comfortable. At first, I had planned to stay for a few days, but before I knew it, I kept extending my stay and ended up spending most of July and August here.I fell ill at work and had to take a long break from work in Miyakojima. The owner and his wife are very nice people, and the people who gather at Ocean, including the helpers, are very nice people. The warm atmosphere, delicious food, the sea and the morning sun soothed us, and it became an irreplaceable place that made us want to work hard again. Ta. I am very grateful to the people I met during my stay, Shige-san, Nori-san (the owner and his wife), and the helpers. Thank you so much! ! !

I spent two weeks at Ocean Guesthouse, and it was amazing. The guesthouse has a family-like atmosphere, welcoming people of all ages and nationalities—young, old, Japanese, and foreigners. This diverse mix adds to the charm! The location is ideal, just 1 minute from a diving spot and 3 minutes from a supermarket. The rooms and common areas are impeccably clean, with daily housekeeping. The hosts are incredibly kind and offer great advice on places to visit. You can also rent a small motorbike or car if needed. Lastly, the optional dinners are delicious x10 and alone make the stay worthwhile. Highly recommended!

This was my first time using a guest house.Stayed for 4 nights with a family of 4 and 2 children. The conclusion was “the best”!The personality of the owner and his wife, the clean facility, the best location, the ability to rent a car, the wife's delicious dinner (optional), the wifi environment, everything was great! No wonder there are so many repeat customers.Other people have commented on the optional dinner, but it's very delicious, so I recommend it (you can also have it without it). Other options include a delicious local izakaya (Japanese pub) and a supermarket within a 15-minute walk, so you can choose to stay more cost-effective.Additionally, due to the nature of guesthouses, there are many common areas, so unlike hotels, there are many rules, but I felt that they were necessary in order to maintain a comfortable space for everyone.Unlike hotels, there are some items that will incur additional charges, but it is possible to avoid them, so check the website in advance (towels, toothbrushes, etc.)The paid transfer service will also take you to the arrival airport on time. It was cheaper than a taxi, and there was a discount for those who rented a car at Ocean, so I was grateful. (I use Miyako Airport. The price is different at Shimoji Airport.)In terms of cost alone, it may be physically possible to take a route bus, but it is not directly from the airport, and the effort and time loss involved, including the distance to the bus stop, is too great, so I don't really recommend it. That depends on your values. There are some comments that seem to be malicious (from the context and content, maybe it's the same person on a different account?), but as someone who actually stayed there until yesterday, I think there's no need to be overly anxious. (This is a level that can be ignored.)If I had to say, I would strongly recommend that first-timers look up ``What is a guest house? (Difference from a hotel or a guesthouse)'' on YouTube. The premise is different from what you would call a normal hotel.Either way, it's a great location,It was a wonderful guesthouse that lived up to everyone's reviews! !

It seems that bad reviews on travel sites have been intentionally deleted, so I would like to write about them here as well. We definitely do not recommend paid shuttle services (1,000 to 3,000 yen)! Even if you are passing through, you will not be picked up and you will have to return to your accommodation. (Actually, I negotiated to the point where I felt sick and finally got him to come.) Currently, Miyakojima is in a dangerously hot place with direct sunlight and temperature. Call a taxi to pick you up at the airport. If you take a taxi, they will suggest a passenger seat with a better view of the scenery (I'm really glad I made the day to call a sightseeing taxi). Many places, such as minshuku hotel tours, offer free transportation from the airport. There are a few buses from the airport, but there are a few. Also, as someone has mentioned, there are about 20 additional options such as a toothbrush for 100 yen, slippers for 100 yen, and a shaver for 100 yen. The facility usage fee (shower, etc.) after check-out is 500 yen. The owner gets really grumpy if I say no, which makes me feel bad lolDinner is also 1,300 yen, but the day before the announcement, it suddenly becomes 3,500 yen for BBQ, but there are too many additional charges later, and the original price for a room without meals was changed to a guest house. It's so expensive that I feel like I'm wasting my money buying cheap items, and even though I paid a total of several thousand yen after checking out, I can only accept cash, and I don't even get a receipt, so I don't have time to properly file my tax return. I wonder if it is? Anyway, the inn makes me feel uneasy about the financial aspect of customer service.

There were a lot of regulars and they seemed to be having a good time, but it was my first time staying there, and I couldn't get used to the other guests, so I felt like I was overextending myself, and I couldn't get over my tiredness. It may be a place where advanced travelers gather. It didn't suit me at all. I think it's good for people who are used to traveling, people who are not shy, and who think it's fun to get along with others.

I had a great time with the owner Shige-san, his wife Nori-chan, and other guests! The owner and his wife were very friendly, so I had a comfortable stay. It is a place with beautiful nature. If you want to fully enjoy nature and like snorkeling, it would be a good idea to stay here. The owner recommended hidden spots and even rented a bike or car if necessary, which was convenient. However, be careful of the weather as it is very hot, and there is nothing to do nearby except snorkeling, so you have to go to Miyako Main Island. It's very rural.I think the starry sky, fireflies, and Irabu blue sea will remain in my memory for a long time. I also really enjoyed the time I spent with other guests. It was fun to greet each other warmly and share food in a friendly atmosphere. This is an unedited phone and camera photo. These are all photos taken near the accommodation.

Two college students visited Miyakojima! It's a long way to Miyako Main Island, but Shige-san (the owner) took us at a cheaper price than a taxi, so the trip wasn't difficult! It was nice that my wife (Nori-chan) cooked dinner herself and that the staff also spoke English. It was my first time going abroad to snorkel, and the staff member was very happy to show me the waterway. I hope people who like the sea should come. The supermarket (A.COOP) is close by, and there are a lot of stars at night, making it perfect for a trip where “romantic” is the concept!

It was a perfect accommodation for someone who loves snorkeling.Walk and swim in the morning and eveningWash and shower outsideIt was really nice to play in the water. The dinner we ate at the hotel every day was also delicious. 👍🏻I was in a dormitory room. It’s been a long time since we all laid down on blankets and slept together. This was also cozy and good. And I was happy to be able to see the stars falling over the night sea. Recommended for those who are not sensitive to sleep and like the sea!!

Pick-up from Shimoji Island Airport (2,000 yen round trip, 1,000 yen one way)There is also a rental car service.Communicate via Line or KakaoTalkFor 1,300 yen, you can have a delicious and filling dinner prepared by Norisan.Shige-san is good at English (because I can’t speak English)Sabautz is a 3-minute walk?! snorkeling pointThe Blue Cave is also close and very nice. There is also a single room, but it is about the size of a bed haha. It's a bit inconvenient that the bathroom is outside.Still, it will be okay for people whose purpose is to play in the water.
