TLDR: Totally not worth 100k yen per night. If you like bugs, dirty private bath and mediocre service, this is the place. We stayed at this hotel because we had a great experience at Hanaori in Hakone last year and wanted to try something more upscale from the same Orix group. Unfortunately, this place really let us down.First off, BUGS. There were so many bugs around the hot bath on our balcony at night, and they were still there in the morning. It made using the private onsen super unpleasant. The hotel didn’t provide any way to deal with them, so we had to call for help. Other hotels we’ve stayed at with open-air baths handled this way better, so it seems like they didn’t do much to prevent the bugs from getting in or provide tools for guests to deal with bugs. The private bath itself wasn’t clean either. When I touched the surface, it left a gross dark yellow residue on my fingers. I asked for it to be cleaned, but nothing changed. We had already switched rooms earlier and the difference in cleanliness between them was surprising. It made me wonder if they’re actually cleaning everything properly. We paid extra for a high-floor room with an ocean view, but the bath was so dirty we couldn’t even use it. Total waste.Since the private bath was a bust, I wanted to try the public onsen, but it closes really early—10 a.m.—and doesn’t reopen until 3 p.m. Most other places I’ve been to close at 11 a.m. I didn’t get to use it after breakfast and didn’t use it the day before either. I asked if I could use the onsen after checkout, but they said no, and apparently you can’t use the lounge after checkout either. Felt like bad service, honestly.Speaking of service, it was pretty mediocre for the price (we spent about 100000 yen for the night). The hotel seemed understaffed, and there was often only one person at the front desk who was busy on the phone. I waited for five minutes and wasn’t even acknowledged. In the restaurant, some of the younger staff didn’t know much about the dishes. One of them even gave me the wrong info about ingredients (I double-checked with another waitress later). Plus, one of the waiters was still using his phone while walking over to help us. Overall, service just felt sloppy. The bedding was also an issue. The quilt was super heavy, so we were hot all night, but the AC was blowing right onto the bed, so when we turned it on, it got too cold. We couldn’t sleep well because of this. The spa was okay but overpriced for what you get. They seemed to focus more on fancy rituals than the actual content of the treatments. The view was nice, but considering this is the Izu area, ocean views are pretty common. I’ve stayed at four different onsen hotels here, and honestly, the view didn’t justify the high price, especially with the bad service and limited access to the public bath. Other hotels in the area have given me better service for half the cost.In the end, it wasn’t worth the money. I won’t be staying at any Orix hotels again.

It was my first time visiting. Although it is far from the station, it is convenient because there is a wagon shuttle service. Although the room was near the elevator, it was very quiet, and although it was on a lower floor, it had a good view, was well-cleaned, and comfortable. All the food was delicious as it is Michelin-starred, and the white meat sashimi with roasted sake was especially delicious. If roasted sake was on sale, I would definitely buy it.The infinity open-air bath in the large public bath has a spectacular view and the water temperature is just right, but it's completely visible from Oedo Onsen, so bathing clothes are a must! !In the guest lounge, the sparkling and marinade on the 8th floor and the raspberry macarons on the 6th floor were delicious. I don't recommend the coffee in the room because it tastes bad. The rice crackers in the guest room were also dirty and tasteless. .What was disappointing was that bathing clothes were not replenished at all in the morning, and used towels were scattered in the women's toilet on the 8th floor after checking out. It was a shame that there were so many staff members, so I deducted one star for the service.

Recently, I visited Karaku-san, which I have heard many good things about, for my husband's birthday and wedding anniversary. From the time I made the reservation, I received many thoughtful emails, and I had a pleasant time from arrival to departure. I took a leisurely soak in the open-air bath on the balcony while looking out at the sea, and watching the sunset and sunrise soothed my daily fatigue. It was nice to be able to relax and have a speaker in the room where I could burn incense to my liking and connect via Bluetooth. In addition, the beautiful and delicious dishes and the sake pairings are all wonderful, making this an inn that I would love to visit again.

I am traveling with children. The staff, lounge, public bath, and room were all clean and I felt very lucky. Dinner was mainly fish, and the kids enjoyed it too. I enjoyed each of the Hakone karakus, each with its own unique qualities.

I used it on my birthday trip!Following Karaku in Hakone, it was very good.I was very satisfied with the high-quality space, customer service, and attention to detail.I chose sushi for dinner. The owner was also a wonderful person, and the sushi we enjoyed while talking to him was great! All the staff welcomed me warmly and sent me home with a smile. As someone who works in the same customer service industry, I learned a lot.The footbath with a beautiful view was also relaxing.I would definitely like to visit again! Thank you for the wonderful time and memories.

I used it on a family trip.I received a welcome drink and was able to check in comfortably. The room was spacious and the surrounding area was very quiet. There was a lounge for guests, and they had unlimited snacks such as desserts and drinks. The children were very satisfied with both dinner and breakfast.I think this is an inn where families can stay with peace of mind.

This is a 1 Michelin star inn that has only been open for about half a year.Dinner is a sushi plan. The rooms are a bit stingy and are on the lower floors.Hospitality is also very good like in Hakone's Karaku. The lounge in Hakone is more extensive.Alcohol is not served, but the lounge has delicious coffee with a choice of beans and cups. There is also. Although the weather was not good this time, the large open-air bath has an infinity view and a spectacular view.Sauna facilities are also available. You can take home the chopsticks you used for breakfast. The sushi at night was also very delicious. The pick-up and drop-off process was stress-free, and the car was a Mercedes-Benz.The accommodation was quiet and very comfortable.
