This hotel is conveniently located near the station and has an unmanned reception. It feels more like AirBnB than a hotel. There is no problem as check-in etc. can be done easily using the installed tablet terminal. There is a park in front of the hotel, so the view is nice and open. It's also very quiet at night. Convenience stores and cafes open from morning are also conveniently located nearby. Four people used it and it was comfortable. We recommend that you register your guests in advance using your smartphone. There are two negative points.First, the bathroom only had a shower (this was completely my mistake, as I had overlooked it when making the reservation), and second, the USB charging terminal on the bed was broken and I couldn't use it.(Come to think of it, there is a book provided as a decoration, but the pages are torn...This is a hotel for people who don't pay attention to such details.)I think I can recommend it to people who want to stay for several nights at a relatively reasonable price, but if you stay for a short period of time like I did when I stayed, it's a shame that you won't be able to take advantage of the hotel's good points (convenience and features). (This was more a mistake on my part than the hotel's.)I think I can recommend it to people who are staying multiple nights and want to use it simply and conveniently!

Everything was very good except for one point which I will mention at the end. Good beds, access to a washing machine and dryer, large fridge (compared to those in classic hotels in mini bar mode here you have a real fridge with separate freezer). On the other hand, there is really no air conditioning in the halls or the elevator. It was over 30 degrees outside during my stay and the elevator was stifling, fortunately there are not 15 floors to climb like some hotels of a large local brand. (it doesn't deserve to take away a star just for the elevator so I wouldn't do it because the rest was really tip top for the price paid). Also worth noting, room service is not included apart from changing sheets and emptying the trash, so I'm not rating it because I didn't want to pay the extra (sleeping in the same sheets for a few days it's normal in fact, and we didn't make a mess or dirty the place so no need to ask for full cleaning between 2 nights)

(1) Self-service check-in. Elders who are not familiar with technology may be stuck at the door for a long time.(2) When taking a bath, remember to press the button before the hot water starts to heat.(3) I slept on a regular bed, not a bunk bed. The air conditioner blew directly on my head. I couldn’t sleep well all night. I had turned down the airflow to the minimum.(4) There is no trash can in the bathroom, which is very inconvenient(5) Note⚠️ Since the hotel is unmanned, luggage cannot be stored. I chose this one because I booked too late and didn't have many choices. Due to the schedule, it was inconvenient to carry luggage the next morning, so on the day of check-in, I had to store my luggage at the hotel I was staying at the next day (for fear that I wouldn’t be able to find a big locker at the station). It took a lot of time 😂😂😂(6) Overall, the room is very spacious and clean.

The self checkin was easy enough, we just got a bit confused as for the room number but it was eventually sent by email. We stayed one night and were satisfied: the room was clean, well equipped and quiet.

We really enjoyed our stay on COCOSHUKU in Shinjuku, however the 4 star hotel description is confusing - Here’s why:When I think of a 4 star hotel, I think about available amenities and service. This hotel is very small and there is no service. I couldn’t reach anyone to ask anything before or during my stay. I only had the website to get information to common questions. Our flight was 11 hours and having been awake for 22 hours, we arrived late at night at the hotel and I didn’t realize I needed a door entry code to get into the hotel. I knew I had to enter my confirmation code at check in (on a tablet outside the hotel) but I thought it would also give me the door code. Nope - it doesn’t. We panicked in the cold and the “contact us” on the tablet didn’t work. We didn’t have a cell plan so we couldn’t call anyone. I couldn’t use WhatsApp to contact them. Finally after panicking for 20 mins, we reread our confirmation email and it had the door entry code. Thank goodness - just a warning for future guest to note that or you won’t get in to find your room. There is no pool or exercise room or extras like that. They have a small room with Boardgames and some kitchen cooking items and a vacuum if you need to borrow it (first come first served). Also, they had slippers and some toiletries at the door if you needed them. It was still cold when we visited but the duvet was very warm so it was nice to sleep at night. Not as nice to get out of bed in the morning though. We always felt safe walking around at any hour and the area was surprisingly clean despite not being able to find garbage cans anywhere. I didn’t enjoy having to keep garbage in my pockets for a long time - sometimes until returning to our hotel. But other than that, the room was clean and enough for our family of 4 to sleep at night. We didn’t spend any time there other than sleep and shower and it was great. It as really small but the Layout was efficient and the location was very convenient. There was tons of shopping and a million restaurant options within walking distance. It was still quiet at night despite being such a busy area. We loved it and would stay again.

DO NOT STAY HERE !!! Worst hotel experience in the last 25 years of traveling internationally across all continents… this is a staffless hotel … you have to do everything yourself from check in at door very complicated … I had my 8 year old son waiting in the cold outside to get someone on the phone to help with Japanese check in … they give 4 clothing hangers for 4 people … dryer did not work left to the airport with wet clothes … they couldn’t even call us a taxi with all our luggages had to walk down the street … never have I experienced the worst hotel … and they won’t accept cancellations … I tried after I found out this before my trip
