This is a Japanese-style family hotel located in Kawaura Town, Amakusa City, Kumamoto Prefecture, with a history of 90 years and has been run by three generations. Pure Japanese style includes pure wooden buildings, pure Japanese decoration and pure Japanese lifestyle, such as tatami mats and decoration in details. The Umeya Inn is run by the female general Ms. Kakimoto. Ms. Kakimoto is a very gentle and attentive aunt. When we arrived at the hotel, she took us to familiarize ourselves with the layout of the hotel and introduced the use of various facilities in detail. And because we are foreigners, she was worried that we wouldn't be able to get used to Japanese food and Japanese-style houses. During our stay, she was very enthusiastic to chat with us and prepared exquisite dinner and breakfast for us. While we were eating, she would quietly go to the room to prepare the bed, and while we were having breakfast, she would go and tidy the room. And no matter which room we go to, she will help us turn on the air conditioner and TV. The experience of staying is not like staying in a hotel, but more like returning to your relatives' home. The dinner and breakfast prepared by Ms. Kakimoto are really delicious. The dinner includes boiled fish, tempura, grilled shrimp, and sashimi. Breakfast not only includes vegetable salad, ham, but also homemade desserts. Ice water and hot water will be prepared for every meal, and Japanese green tea will be served for breakfast. The location of Umeya Ryokan is also very good. It takes about 30 minutes to go to Honto and Ushibuka. After playing in a busy place, it is really comfortable to find a quiet town to spend the night. When I went to bed, I slept on a tatami with suitable softness and hardness, and leaned on a pillow filled with natural seeds. I slept for a full 10 hours. All of this only costs 6,000 yen (approximately RMB 300) per person, which is really an unparalleled quality experience.Having to book by phone without online booking may be unfriendly to people who don’t speak Japanese, but it is an irreplaceable experience. This is a Japanese-style family hotel located in Kawaura Town, Amakusa City, Kumamoto Prefecture.
