Second visit to HanamiFishing all day at the breakwater right next door and floating in the calm sea just across the road is something that only I want to know about. In the summer, you can lie down on the hammock on the deck and enjoy a sea turtle, and in the cooler months, it is a perfect rest area where you can enjoy a fire pit in front of the fireplace.

I would give 6 stars if I could! We (4 people) stayed for 4 nights escaping the busy city life and to experience rural Japan. At first, I was a bit skeptical. But it turned out to be perfect. The rooms are great (most of them refurbished) and the common areas (living room, kitchen, showers and toilets) are modern, cozy and well equipped, too. The host is very lovely and supporting in any way. And finally, the island is just amazing. We had the two very spacious rooms with the ocean view and even though the house is located at a (non-busy) road we had a quiet sleep. The Japanese breakfast is super tasty, too. What to do around? Dolphin watching tour, cycling around the island (two bikes are provided by the host) to see amazing landscapes (rice paddies, bamboo forests, ocean views, sun sets), walk around the neighborhood, go fishing or visit Notojima Aquarium. The place is perfect to calm down and the local people are friendly, open and easy to talk to. Make sure to bring some snacks from Family Mart since there ain’t no restaurants close by for dinner except driving to the main land (Wakura Onsen). During lunch time there are several options around. I highly recommend the soba place in the village just 5min walk away and the Mono-Dog-Run-Café that serves great coffee and fluffy pancakes.

I stayed in a Japanese-style room for one night. The room itself is pretty average. The common areas are very clean and new.The atmosphere is also very good. The parking lot is located at a fishing port, so it's a short walk, but it's not a problem.Close to the roadside station and aquarium.I think the location is great.Breakfast was also delicious.Especially egg dishes.

It is used as an event venue rather than a lodging facility. The room is clean and the location near the sea is great. The owner is kind and hardworking, and I would like to stay there someday.

Really very well received, the owner prepares Japanese breakfasts which are exceptional! The view is very beautiful. The road passes right in front but in the evening there is no traffic. The house is rather quiet, it depends a little on the other guests. A great way to stay in Notojima.
