All the dishes were prepared with great care and the owner's passion. I ate some very delicious and expensive new rice. I also received pesticide-free tomatoes as a souvenir. In addition, I received a beer from the owner at the table. Thank you very much for your time.

I visited Shikicho for the first time during the February holidays. As other people have said, I took a wrong turn before I got there and had to back up on a narrow road...I should have come by light car. However, when I managed to get there, I was greeted warmly in the hallway. Nowadays, the bath is the best bath. I was guided and immediately went to the cypress bath. Although it is not a hot spring, I felt comfortable soaking in the spring water that felt good on my skin. Now, what I was most interested in was the food. I was very satisfied with the dishes made with local ingredients and lots of vegetables. In particular, I made the burdock potage from memory after I got home. (Although it wasn't as good as it was) Also, the tofu such as yose tofu was homemade, even though I thought it was from a local tofu shop! It was a simple classic, but it was filling. The sake is also made using rice grown locally in Ubuyama. It was really delicious. On the way home, we even took photos to see them off. Sorry for waving your hand all the time. However, I will come back to enjoy the food again in different seasons. The unfortunate thing was the weather. The sky was cloudy and foggy in the morning, so I couldn't get a good view. There's nothing I can do about this. By the way, there were 4 groups of guests on the day I stayed. The inn was quiet except for the sound of the guests' children running in the hallway.

I used it on New Year's Eve 2023! This is an inn located up a narrow road at the top of a mountain. There are two baths at the end of the red passage, a cypress bath and a rock bath, and you can turn your bill over while bathing, so you can enjoy the bath by yourself! There is no bath in the room. The rock bath was extremely hot! The food takes a lot of effort and is very delicious! The burdock soup was especially shocking! I was pretty full, but was it enough? When I said I still wanted to eat it, she served me extra pork kimchi! When the new year started, they served us zenzai and beer! The interaction between the general and his girlfriend was so much fun that I wanted to stay there again! On the way home, I was given a plastic bottle of water from the nearby Ikeyama water source, which was said to be delicious! It’s been a great New Year’s Eve!

I decided to stay here in mid-September after reading the highly rated reviews. The room and bath were clean and comfortable ✨ Since we arrived early, we were able to take a bath in two different baths, which was the first bath, so we were very lucky 🍀Although it was said that it was not a hot spring, the hot water was very nice ♨️Enjoy your dinner 🍚🥗🍲As the reviews say, all the dishes were very elaborate and delicious😋I really liked the pumpkin soup, so when I asked for the recipe at checkout, she brought me a plastic bottle and said, ``I've frozen the soup from yesterday, so I hope you like it.''😍😍Whether I'm happy or sorry, I'm so grateful 😆😆 My heart is full 🥰🍀🥰I was grateful for it after I got home 🍀😋🍀The host is sincere, kind, and very nice 😊 After leaving the accommodation, I regretted, ``I forgot to ask him to take a photo with me.'' 💦If I have a chance, I would definitely like to stay again 🙋🙋

The car's navigation points to the river below.Google Maps will guide you in front of you, but it feels like you have to climb to the top of the mountain, turn right, and come back.I have submitted a request to Google for a correction, but will it change? The food came out like this! The seasoning was well thought out and everything was delicious both in the evening and in the morning.

It was really good.It seems that only two groups are allowed per day, but I was able to use it as the third irregular group. (Seems to be a mistake on the travel site)The food was so amazing that I couldn't believe it was only 10,000 yen per night, and even though the host was working hard on his own, the inside of the hotel was clean and very comfortable.Although the bath is not a hot spring, it is a rock bath with an atmosphere and can be used for exclusive use.It also fits your cell phone without any problems.Japanese sake and shochu went very well with the rice.Recommended!

About 3 hours down the road from my home.I came across a super hidden inn in Ubuyama Village. This guest house is located on a site the size of Tokyo Dome, with a beautiful view, very quiet, and a great view of Kuju and Mt. Aso.The building is new, there is a rock bath, and a washlet.Wi-Fi is available.Room, bath, toilet, entrance etc. It's very well cleaned. The bath will be heated according to your arrival time. I'll take a bath right away. The hot water was just right. After taking a bath, I relaxed for a while and went to the dining room.A huge variety of dishes. Each dish, including appetizers and salads, is handmade and delicate. They will check the timing of your meal and serve you freshly made chawan mushi, potato soup, skewers, and spareribs numen to finish. The skewered catfish is very soft and has no odor. It's so delicious!Although story changesThe owner is a former chef with experience in Japanese, Western, and Chinese cuisine. As an option, you can also order Ubuyama red beef steak and horse sashimi if you reserve in advance.Akaushi steak from Ubuyama is ready to eat when the surface is slightly heated. It was still sweet even if I ate it without salt. The horse sashimi is super fresh, and you can also enjoy the liver sashimi, which is hard to find even in Kumamoto.Breakfast had a lot of items in the morning and I ended up eating three bowls of rice. Especially milk puddingIt's so delicious that I wish I could take it out. Also, the dining room was heated. The owner's attentiveness and care were excellent. After staying this time, I became a fan of this inn.Thank you for the wonderful stay!I'll visit you again!

I used it during the Obon holidays. The husband was exhausted from working so hard, but he kept the house clean and the food was delicious, so I thought I'd post about it.There is a signboard in the middle of Ubuyama Village, and you can reach the guesthouse by walking up a road that is only suitable for one car for about 5 minutes.I don't think you will get lost as Google Navi will guide you properly. There are also signboards giving directions along the way. When we arrived at the guest house, we could see Mt. Kokonoe and Mt. Aso all around us, and it was a spectacular view. There is nothing around, and you can hear the sounds of insects and birds, which is soothing. There are a lot of chestnuts on the ground, and if you ask the owner, you can take them home. The inside of the guesthouse had a Japanese atmosphere and was very clean. There are 4 rooms, and the washroom and toilet are used for instruction. There are two types of baths, and we took the cypress bath, and the bath tub was large enough for adults to stretch their legs.It seems that the water is from a well, but the temperature is regulated, and from the bay window you can see the Aso bathtub. It felt good to be able to see the scenery.I ate with other people and the host explained each dish one by one. At the end of the meal, we were served beer and the exhausted husband and I all toasted together lol.My husband and I visited with our 9-month-old child, and the friendly host held our child in his arms, making it a great memory.I wanted to visit again when my child was older.
