Wonderful accommodation!! ︎I really liked it. I want to come again. As someone who is used to staying in dormitories and guesthouses, it was very comfortable.A small and stylish house in the mountains.Although the price was low, it was very easy to spend time, it was clean and kind, and it was a fun night with a lot of interaction. The bunk bed room was clean, and I was able to eat the food I bought in a place like the living room...There is also a spacious garden (?) area. There was also a women's toilet. There are multiple outlet taps near the bedside, and Wi-Fi is also available. The area right behind the inn has a beautiful view and is perfect for an early morning walk.It was a hot day, but the inn was at a high altitude so it was cool. At night, I could hear the chorus of insects, the cries of mysterious beasts, and the chirping of birds in the morning...I could really feel the nature. You can also rent a shower for a very small additional fee. Shampoo, conditioner, body soap, etc. are provided. (In the morning of the next day, I took a day trip to the hot springs at multiple hotels in Kurokawa Onsen)The owner was also kind, friendly, easy to talk to, and attentive.Ask about recommended sightseeing spots.I had a little interaction with other guests (visitors from the southern hemisphere) who were staying on the same day using smartphone translation...(Surprisingly, it seems like there aren't that many customers from overseas, about 10%?)However, for better or worse, it is located in the mountains, so if you are not good at driving, we recommend that you arrive at the inn before dark. You have to climb a very narrow, squishy road with no street lights, so if you're not good at driving and try to get there after dark, you'll get stuck. Also, there don't seem to be any shops within walking distance, so please buy dinner before heading there. When we went to the supermarket in the evening with our rental car, we were a little sad because there were almost no side dishes, bento boxes, or rice balls left. It's best to get it early. It was a very satisfying stay. it's recommended.

Thank you for staying with us for one night on May 31st. I was worried about traveling to Kurokawa Onsen by bus, but the owner called me and helped me find me when I got lost. Also, it seemed like he worked at a stand during the day, so I was able to store my luggage there, which was helpful.Wake up in the morning to the sounds of warblers and cuckoos and forget about the hustle and bustle of the city. The fresh greenery was beautiful and the air was really delicious.I would like young people to experience this mountain hut in the middle of nature.Thank you for this time.

This is an inn where you can enjoy Kurokawa Onsen at the cheapest price. Although it's a bit far, you don't have to worry about having a car as you can be picked up from Kurokawa Onsen. This is probably the most convenient place to combine Mt. Kusumi climbing and Kurokawa Onsen. I'm also happy that the toilets are clean.Honestly, I think it's okay to pay twice this amount. If you're traveling alone and want to stay near Kurokawa Onsen, this is really your only option. Also, it should be more memorable than staying in the area. I think it will be a good memory.

Such a wonderful experience. Highly recommend!I booked this guesthouse for a long weekend in Kurokawa Onsen in the beginning of February 2024. The property is a < 5 min drive from the city center, and the owner Watanabe-san kindly offered a pick-up and drop-off (via a classic small Japanese truck, which I loved!).It’s difficult to stay in a ryokan as a solo traveler, so the guesthouse was a great way to meet other people and experience something different. Even as a female solo traveler, I felt very safe. The shared living area was a warm space to share meals and chat with others after a long day of exploring. It really felt like a home!Very grateful to Watanabe-san for everything during a (short) 2-night stay. He’s a warm and friendly host, and really made the experience special. ありがとうございました!また来ますよ!

Everything was great. The owner is very friendly, on the first day we went to the onsen together with him. I arrived at a ski resort and the owner drove me there and back in his car. Very grateful to him.

I stayed here with my mountain friends after climbing Kuju in the snow.I had a great time with my friends. It was very reasonably priced, and the building and owner were unpretentious and simple, making it very comfortable! Next time, I want to go and enjoy the bonfire and the starry sky.

TLDR: Amazing stay. Watanabe-San is a hostel shokunin. My dad and I stayed here — we had an amazing time. Watanabe-San treated us like family, and we were able to experience Japanese daily life while touring the onsen. If concerned about the distance between the residence and the onsen, Watanabe-San does drop offs and pick ups. There is also a legit terrific restaurant right next to his place on the top of the mountain. If you want something a little different, a little more real, and a lot more fun — stay here.
