For someone like me who loves shrines, lighthouses, strangely shaped rocks, seabirds, fishing ports, and sunsets, this was the most luxurious inn I could find.It can't be helped since it's a guest house, but the rooms don't have proper keys, so it might be scary if you're traveling alone.Although the building is old, the rooms themselves have been renovated and are clean.If you can tolerate a guesthouse, we highly recommend staying at Hinomisaki while sightseeing in Izumo.

It has a nice view along the sea. The meal was at a different place a little further away. They will pick you up by car. The meal was so rich in seafood that it was hard to eat.

As it was mentioned it’s a typical guest house. But the rooms are comfortable, there is parking, the view is amazing and the host is friendly and helpful.The beach is amazing for snorkeling, but because the nearest public parking is 10 minutes up a hill, having the facilities (shower, room, parking, base for beach goods), is just priceless.The dinner/breakfast that is included is very large and generous, but I would say not very kid friendly (adult portions served means most of it is going to waste)The shower and toilets are shared amongst the rooms, but there were multiple of each so it isn’t an issue.

Booked this place along with my friends for a scuba diving trip. The location is quite remote so it is recommended to have a car. But the distance to and from the nearest bus stop is roughly a kilometer so it is also quite walkable. There is a beach across the street outside the guesthouse so for summer, it is said to be more lively.The rooms were that of a typical Japanese guesthouse. They were decent enough, cozy, and the basic necessities are provided. There is a free wi-fi service as well. Asazu-san is a very kind host. Instead of in-house meals, we had our dinners at a nearby restaurant that he also runs. He was kind enough to always offer us a ride back and forth the accommodation whenever we had our meals. The food was great and you get to enjoy local fresh seafood of great quality. We had crab, sashimi and other interesting Shimane fish delicacies. Seafood lovers will definitely enjoy the experience. Servings were too generous and we always finished our meals with our stomachs filled to the brim.However, one has to speak Japanese at an intermediate to advanced level as reservation is only available through phone calls.
