Absolutely the first region to come again. Fireplace, 榻榻米, earthenware, wooden bouquet, garden, xuanguan, abura, owning this is a trivial matter. Close to the center of Jiuli City, there are many hot springs in the evening. It's definitely a place I'll come back to. Kotatsu, earthen storehouses, wooden houses, courtyards, entrances, and Japanese umbrellas are all very retro. It is very close to the city center of Kurayoshi, and you can also go to Misasa Onsen at night. It's a really nice place.

107 year-old Kominka (Old style Japanese house) was beautifully renovated into an amazing guesthouse! If you stay here, you may not need to go other places for sightseeing and here are reasons why. This place was filled with Japanese antiques and old furniture. For those antique lovers like me, it feels like you are staying at the museum. We haven't tried yet, but there is a Karaoke room at annex, which is a renovated kura (storage shed). You can enjoy singing with your family, friends, and/or partner.Unlike other parts of the guesthouse, bathroom and toilet are modern style and very convenient to use. Especially, there were 4 toilets separated from bathroom that you don't have to fight for it in the morning. Lol.At the end of our stay we had time to admire the exterior grounds (building itself and Japanese garden) it is so photogenic!Owners are such nice and lovely people: They gave us a lot of local information and cooked us a delicious breakfast. We recommend this place to you and will definitely go back there.Thank you so much!

A simply amazing place to overnight or spend longer. The couple recently upgraded and renovated the 105 year old farmhouse that offers both traditional beauty and modern conveniences. Upon entering the first thing you feel is warmth--literally from the American wooden stove that heats up the place. The owners are lovely, welcoming and kind and the space is just gorgeous. I enjoyed an evening in a traditional tatami room on a fluffy futon that had been preheated with a heat blanket. The room was also heated with a hibachi, which gave off a wonderful aroma. Upon awakening the next day, there was a tasty breakfast, plus coffee waiting for me and amazing extras, such as five different salt options. I also enjoyed local sweets upon arrival. The owners went out of their way to also take me to a nearby hot springs in the evening and was especially welcome given that I arrived in a snowstorm. While the owners have returned after spending decades in the Tokyo area, they are well versed on the best spots to see locally as they are originally from the area. The extra details are amazing, including a home made rec room, that is also equipped with a karaoke machine and a lovely writers space for any reporters out there. I can't wait to come back with friends!
