It's a very beautiful facility. 10 years old. I heard that this building was built specifically for the guesthouse, although guesthouses are run by salvaging old houses and vacant houses. The washroom and shower are extremely clean. The bed is also spacious. It is made using a lot of local high-quality Kusugi wood. The location is bad, so it might be difficult if you don't have a car, but on the other hand, only people who don't have legs can come, so there aren't many people, and there's no need to use a crowded dormitory. If you have legs, this is a very clean facility, so I recommend it. The stars are beautiful at night. You can hear the sound of the river from the inn.・There was a review that said it was dirty, but that is completely false.

Yakushima has a warmth and charm unique to rural destinations. Guesthouse Yakushima is beautifully situated. Mr. Hiro, the host, is kind, accommodating, and generous with his knowledge of the island. He has anticipated the needs of his guests and provides tourist information in English and Japanese. Food staples are provided for a nominal fee, this is very helpful if your travel plans do not allow for a grocery stop before checking in. The rooms and facilities are clean and well maintained. The owner entered my bedroom which was locked without my authorization and for no particular reason. If it was an emergency like a fire or something, I would have understood, but it wasn’t. Moreover, the last day, before leaving, I noticed a spying camera inside my private bedroom. Unfortunately, it was too late. Maybe the owner enjoyed watching me naked, who knows…No privacy/intimacy, inappropriate behavior from the owner, I really felt uncomfortable.I would definitely not recommend this place.I have met great others guests there, but I am not rating others guests here, I am rating the accommodation itself.
