Budidin homestay

I stayed at Budidin Homestay for 8 nights and wanted to write an honest review for the place so that others can make an informed decision.Budidin is located about a 10 minute walk from the beach at Batu Bolong. There are plenty of places to eat located within easy walking distance catering for all budgets and ranging from local to western food offerings.Although there are many small convenience stores close by it is a fair way from a supermarket, but I don't think most people would need to go to the supermarket anyway.The homestay is located in a traditional style Balinese family compound/property. There is places to sit outside, refrigerated mineral water available as well as free tea and coffee.As this is an active family home you often hear the two young children in the morning but they certainly don't cause any problems.The place is located just off the busy Pantai Batu Bolong road yet the rooms are pretty quiet and I wasn't really disturbed by traffic noise at any time.My room was basic but clean and spacious. Sure there were some parts that look a bit tired in places but it certainly wasn't dirty or unhygienic in any way. The best part of the room was the AC kept the room lovely and cold so you could retreat for a rest from the afternoon heat.The shower/toilet area is a wet room. If you are coming from a western country like Australia you may think the toilet is dirty or old because of the staining but this is normal when toilets like this are cleaned regularly with bleach and it just highlights the fact that the toilet has been regularly cleaned. Due to the fact that the shower area has open vents to the outside you occasionally share the space with a couple of ants. They seem harmless and kept to themselves and because of the tight seal of the door they can't enter the bedroom area anyway.I have to say that for the money this place was excellent value. If you're expecting a western standard hotel accommodation you may be disappointed, if you want to stay somewhere in a great location that is clean, comfortable and welcoming then you can't go wrong.Mr Gede who runs the homestay also works as a driver and speaks good English. His prices for airport transfers are very reasonable and his car is clean, comfortable and has AC as well. You can also organise a daily rate with him to be your driver and he will happily assist with organising all the standard tours available in Bali.At the end of the day you really what you really want to know from a review is would that person return. In this case I absolutely would return and stay again without hesitation.

Probably the nicest hotel we‘ve been to in Bali for that price! The beds are incredibly comfortable, the room is very clean and the water pressure in the shower is amazing which is rare here in our experience! …

Nice place to stay if you visit Canggu, close to beach and the family runs it are very friendly
