Felt like this place was treating me like a Gaijin as soon as I was at the reception. I came without a reservation, I explicitly asked for a "room" . I asked if its a room or a dormitory, and the guy said 'room'. When it came to the price they asked me around 7000 yen, but when I showed them a Japanese site, they lowered it to 4500 yen. I would expect that there would be a fixed price and that the receptionist is not trying to gain the most money possible. After I booked it, it became clear to me that it was for the dorm next door. Considering that the two places are managed by the same reception, I was also surprised by their disparity. The hostel for instance has no spot for dinner, and no slippers for their guests. Why can Hostel guests not also use the dining area for instance to eat some ramen noodles in the evening? The hostel has a makeshift kitchen that is somehow also a bathroom, and basic amenities like chopsticks, cutlery or complimentary coffee are not present. Given the level of service I am used to at this price at other hostels in Japan, this one definitely felt like it was taking advantage of its guests. I recommend going to a Hostel in Suonkoyo, one of the best and cheapest one I ever visited, this one is a bucket in comparison.

I made a capsule reservation for Shiretoko Village on a travel agency website, and when I asked at the reception desk of Shiretoko Village Tsukudasou around the end of June, I was told that the building across the road was Shiretoko Hostel Hanare. I was guided to.When I looked at the beds for guests, I realized that they were dormitory-style, not capsule-style. "Hanare" is a dormitory hostel that is similar to a guest house.Approximately 10 cars can be parked for free in the unpaved vacant lot next to Hanare, and even if this parking lot is full, you can park in the unpaved vacant lot across the road on the Shiretoko Village grounds.Unlock the outer door of the building using the electronic password given to you by the front desk, take off your shoes at the entrance, and go up the hallway. Directly in front of you is the lounge room, on the left is the toilet and laundry room, and on the right are the stairs and guest bed room. , which leads to. You can enter the guest bed room by unlocking the inner door using an electronic password. There is no bath in Hanare, and you will need to use the large bath in Shiretoko Village across the road, so you will need to pay a separate bath tax of 150 yen at check-in.There is a large household refrigerator in the back of the laundry room, and you can put the items you want to keep cold in the refrigerator by writing your name on them using the ink pen provided. The surface of the refrigerator is covered with commemorative graffiti from past guests. In addition to a coin laundry, the laundry room has a wash basin, microwave, kettle, and separate trash cans. There is no air conditioner in the guest's bed room, which can only be adjusted by opening and closing the window. The bed has a bed cover, blanket, pillow, nightwear, towels of different sizes, a power outlet, a single light, and a small shelf with a padlock for valuables, but there is no TV or radio.Since I didn't have a key, checking out was easy as I could just leave Hanare without going to the reception desk at Shiretoko Village.I think it's a good option if you can get around by car or two-wheeled vehicle and your only purpose is to sleep cheaply. If you want to stay in Shiretoko for a long time and enjoy it to the fullest, I recommend the Shiretoko Village Main Building or another hotel with high room rates.

I was planning on staying and called to ask if there was anything that wasn't available at the facility, but the first person who answered couldn't understand me at all, and the next person who answered also didn't understand when I told them I was in a dormitory or a shared room. I'm very tired.I was asked about the dates of my stay, and after a long wait, I was told that I didn't have a reservation.(Even though I did have a reservation after all)I will post again when I stay again.I just wanted to ask if they had towels and nightwear, but it ended up being a very long call.

When Dormitory was turning on the light in his bed, a cypress and a moth came to him. Worst hygiene.Mountain huts are a better level. The quality of the hot springs is excellent, but depending on your plan, it may be cheaper to pay on the day without using the hot springs. As for lodging plans, it's cheaper to plan without a hot spring and include a hot spring on the day of the trip than with a plan that includes a hot spring, and even though it's only a 150 yen difference, I'm not convinced.By the way, I posted a review on a certain reservation site, but it was deleted, so I think it's best not to trust the reviews.

Hanare hostel is an annex to the Shiretoko Village hotel, across the street. It is 900m uphill from the Utoro Bus Terminal and, unfortunately, I was not able to use the shuttle service on any day.Everything, including breakfast, must be reserved the day before. The receptionists who work during the day were very attentive.Bathing is only in the hotel's Onsen (across the street) and you need to pay ¥150 per day. They provide towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, creams, hairdryer. The breakfast is very good, I paid ¥1300 per day. As a Brazilian, I missed bread and cake.As the price I got through Agoda was very good (¥3000), I can't complain.I highly recommend this hostel for the cleanliness, food and attention of the staff.
