Japanese-style ryokan and rooms. Shuttle bus to Namiso train station twice a day. Very remote in the forest in the mountains. Belonging to the hotel where the hotel's own onsen can be used as it is the shared bathroom. There is only self-catering. Hot water for tea or coffee available. Not luxury but with flair. We liked it. If you want a little more luxury and food you should book the hotel.

Very typical Japanese style room! But the bathroom is outside the roomThis time I stayed in the old hotel, which only provides accommodation. You have to go to the new building to use the hot springs or meals. But the public bathhouse is quite comfortableI happened to choose everyone to take a shower during meal time, so I booked the room directly to enjoy it😎

The hotel is in the middle of nature, Japanese style, mountain view, there is a bedroom and sink in the room. Clean bathrooms, separated for men and women. The onsen style bath is in the hotel next door. You have to buy food from the city to eat. The hotel has a shuttle service at scheduled times to Tsumago and Nagiso. All the staff are lovely. I am happy to stay here.

The onsen in main building is indeed very nice and relaxing, but the room in the annex that we took (that was indeed cheap as we mostly reserved for budget purpose and for having access to the onsen in main building) was a nightmare. We didn’t expect such poor and dirty room. It’s properly unacceptable. The smell was awful and moldy. In addition, the soundproofing between room was terrible. It’s like we were sleeping with our room neighbors. We will for sure never come back here as onsen lover.

Great place to stay if you want the experience of a mountain onsen without paying the full price of luxury Ryokan. It is a good twenty minutes to the nearest town (and nearest convenient store) so be sure to stock up on what you need beforehand. The wifi does not reach the rooms and it is only available in the lobby. Rooms are comfortable and large in size. They provide everything you need to use the onsen across the street. There was an English speaker amongst their staff to answer our phone call ahead of arrival. We had a wonderful time.

Peaceful stay in the mountains with access to a terrific onsen with views of the surrounding nature. The access to the partner hotel’s facilities was the best part of the property. The onsen there was absolutely stunning with gorgeous views of the mountains around the area. The property itself suited our basic needs and was very quiet. The value we got for the rooms and access to the partner hotel’s facilities was great. The room had some stains on the walls. The staff were extremely hospitable. They even provided free shuttle service to the train station, but the times need to be planned around.
