The inside of the building looks like a dungeon. If you don't mind old buildings and like exploring, this is for you lolEven if I wanted to build a building like this, I probably wouldn't be able to do it...However, it can be quite scary when there are few guests, so I don't recommend it for people who get scared (^_^;)There is also a shrine oratory where you can worship. It seems like a good idea to visit before climbing the mountain.

The hotel is really interesting. We have been living in Japan for more than 15 years and we have stayed in several "Ryokans" and this is so far our favourite. In particular I found it fascinating how the rooms are located inside the hotel. Our room was great and the futon was very comfortable (we are already used to sleeping in futon). We went in low season so the hotel was almost entirely for ourselves. The staff went beyond friendly and helpful. The bus station is very close and there is a convenience store around the corner. If you like doing kayak, there is a place where you can rent kayaks and spend a few hours in the lake, which is less than 10min walking. In general we had a great time and we recommend this hotel (be sure you speak some Japanese as it might be needed to reserve a room).

It's a ryokan with some kind of history.I couldn't find accommodation near Mitake Ski Resort.I made a reservation with great difficulty. This is an inn with a very nice atmosphere.

There is a shrine inside an inn run by the priest of Mitake Shrine. The meals are vegetarian style and the portions are small. The picture of morning mist in the photo is a realistic painting that I created from a photograph of Otaki village taken from near Taki Ryokan in the morning.

Dinner was luxurious with Kiso beef and tempura sashimi. Breakfast may seem simple in comparison, but it will also fill you up.

Although it is not a new inn, it was well-cleaned and I felt comfortable. Also, Mitake Shrine is enshrined in the building, and I was able to enjoy the sacred atmosphere. This is an inn that I would like to stay at again if I have the opportunity.

I stopped by on the way back from Kaida Kogen and enjoyed the hot springs❗️The hot water was interesting because it was a cold spring with a high iron content and then boiled water, but the bottom of the women's bath seemed to be slippery. I think it's moss. 😱

I think it was an off-peak season when we stayed here. We did manage to explore the whole place, but it seems like quite a big ryokan with many rooms catered for mountain climbers or skiers. …
