It's true that they call themselves an auberge!Almost all of the ingredients are locally sourced, and while they take care of the ingredients, they add a little extra effort that makes you think, ``What is this?'' It's amazing! The portions are also reasonable. I chose the assorted sashimi course, but it was a bit too much! I was so absorbed in eating it that I could only get about half of what came out...The dessert, strawberry and sweet summer sorbet, was also perfect! The indoor bath is large and spacious, and the open-air bath might be cramped for two people...but the quality of the water (including the shower) is smooth and comfortable. PH9.48 If you think of it as a guesthouse, there are five rooms. The toilets are shared (there are quite a few considering the number of guests). The beds were spacious and the rooms were well-cleaned. Wi-Fi is also available. It was not barrier-free. Also, I would like to come back here again, rather than making a fuss and enjoying the food.

Added to review from 2 years agoAfter that, I became a repeat customer of Matsutsuru (I'm sure everyone is like that...), and this time, for the third time, I tried crab for the first time at Matsutsuru.I've had crabs in many different places. From guesthouses to inns, all of them were famous and popular.Among them, Matsutsuru is the best. Other people have already talked about the deliciousness, so I won't go into it here, but the quality and attention to detail of the charcoal used in the grilled crab and the vegetables in the hot pot are second to none.Special mention goes to the battered crab tempura. The batter has a sense of unity with the crab's body. Crab tempura has the same softness and doesn't feel like batter.Usually, if you eat a lot of crab, you won't need any more! However, by the time I finished eating, I was so hungry that I thought to myself, ``I'm done eating already...I can't come back again...I can't go anywhere else.''The large crab course for children was also good. Parents who want to feed small children the same delicious food as adults can rest assured. As always, the accommodation was spotless and clean. This is an inn where you can see the tireless efforts. The hot spring water was also good as always. The quality of the spring water is also really good.Well now, I was given the courage to work hard again. This time I had the full course of local crab, but I'm always dreaming of the local crab course someday.I am always grateful for your help.[Reviews from 2 years ago]___________________I searched for natural hot spring water and quickly decided that I wanted to put a lot of effort into cooking, and then I hit the jackpot.A lot of really delicious and beautiful dishes. We have accommodations of various tastes, from high-end hotels to inns with cuisine, but the quality of the food here is of a high standard. Perfect.I wonder if Kyoto's natural hot spring water is just a chore? As expected, there was plenty of hot water, and the hot water was good. Also, in some guesthouses, the cleaning is no longer so rough! The common areas of the bathroom are also clean and spotless. Drinking water is refilled after bathing. Before staying, I was concerned that there was no toilet in the room, but the shared toilet was also kept clean. There must be a lot of repeat customers. I will definitely go again!

To the Sea of Japan side to catch crab. There are many options, including inns, guesthouses, and restaurants, but this time we visited Matsutsuru, a Japanese auberge that focuses on food. When you arrive, you will meet the human crabs in the fish tank next to the entrance. This plan includes one serving (approximately 1 kg) of sashimi of human crab, seko crab, and fish and crab for each person. You can eat the crab any way you like: you can grill it over charcoal, you can grill it fresh and raw with delicious crab miso, or you can eat it as sashimi. At a good timing, we made some of the meat into tempura, followed by crab chili and rice porridge. You can add more fish or other items depending on the amount of crab, but one crab was enough for me. Fresh crab can only be eaten locally, so it's worth a visit as you can get high quality crab at a relatively reasonable price. You can also eat all you can eat popsicles in the freezer next to the stairs (we didn't get that far).

I've been using it since last year.Although it is mainly used in winter, the dishes made with local ingredients and the skill of the master are the most delicious. I was able to eat more and more breakfast! Thanks to the friendly staff, I was very satisfied just like last year! My little son also had a lot of just white rice 😊I would like to use it again in the summer next time.

We received the submission for July 2022.Straight to the point, locally produced and locally consumed food is so delicious! !My hobby is traveling, and I stay at the best inns in the area that are highly rated nationwide (especially for their food).I never thought that a fish dish could impress me so much.Fish can be eaten freshly caught. It's not necessarily the most delicious cooking method.I studied at this inn.Aging and pasteurization are important (low-temperature cooking). You can have your food delivered to you at the most delicious time. Also, something worth mentioning is the vegetables from the Tango Peninsula that are served here. It's sweet and delicious! !High-quality vegetables that are not commonly available. This French kaiseki using vegetables and fish was the best! !Also, the preservative-free French white wine that goes well with this was delicious! !Thank you very much for providing such delicious food without using any artificial seasonings, right down to the last soup.Although the soup is just vegetable stock, it is very thick and delicious (surprise!!).Dessert was a parfait containing a variety of locally produced fruits. It was extremely delicious. This alone might be worth going to eat! !The morning breakfast and coffee (limited to website applicants only) were delicious! !The hot spring water flowing directly from the source was also smooth and pleasant.Next time, I would like to come and eat crab on a heavy snowy day.

The food is delicious to the highest standards. A variety of dishes made with local ingredients and taken time and effort. I was impressed. We recommend that you visit with an empty stomach. Also, the hot springs are smooth. The quality of the spring water is good.I have been to Kotohikihama many times for over 25 years, but I was careless not to know that such a wonderful inn existed.I would also like to visit during the crab season.

A repeat customer who was fascinated by the food and hot springs! This time, I went to enjoy the last crab samadhi course of the season! After all, what we recommend is the magnificent crab, which is bigger than other crab inns! I'm always amazed at the size of the shell! And when you think of crab, you think of sake! We enjoyed a variety of local sake. And we enjoyed the crab we couldn't eat again on top of hot white rice for breakfast the next day! Ah, I want to go again soon!We also recommend the small but cozy hot springs. You can also reserve the open-air bathtub every time to warm yourself up to your heart's content.Even during the crab season, you can enjoy seasonal course meals! When should I go next time?
