Return visit since last summer. The Nakai-san remembers us and once again did their best to provide us with warm hospitality with smiles on their faces. Thank you very much for making me feel at ease. What surprised me was that the cooking became even more powerful. The first live squid I requested this season was squirting vigorously, and I was excited as well. Not to mention the crunchy texture and sweet taste.Sweet sea bream soup, rock oyster and sea bream roe sashimi, abalone stewed in jibu, smoked sea bass, firefly squid rice... all of them are a series of mouth-watering delights where you can fully experience the charm of seafood. The Tajima beef steak was also excellent with the Japanese pepper sauce.I was even more impressed by the level of deliciousness of the breakfast the next day. Among them, the Tajima beef shabu-shabu, dashimaki egg, and grilled mackerel were really delicious. I ended up having to refill 3 bowls of freshly cooked rice.It was nice to be able to relax in the lounge and beauty salon in the adjacent building. The afterglow of a very satisfying trip doesn't seem to be fading away for a while.

The service from check-in to check-out was good. It was Kyoto hospitality.I think it's better to check blogs etc. before choosing a room. I went in the summer and there was an insecticide kit at the entrance, so I was a little worried, but I had no problems with Katori incense sticks. The hot springs are heated using a circulating filter system and sterilized using chlorine-based chemicals, so they are not directly sourced. The food was good and consisted of seasonal and local ingredients as much as possible. In winter, crab is the main ingredient, so the price is higher, so summer is recommended. It was about a 10 minute walk to the beach. It seems that you can also use the shuttle service at the sister hotel.

The meal I had a year ago was so delicious that I came back this time. The head chef has changed from a year ago. I visited with high expectations, but to be honest, I wasn't as impressed as last time and was disappointed. The food, starting with the 8-inch dish and ending with the dessert, was simple in appearance and taste, with no creativity at all, and I was not impressed at all. If I hadn't added abalone as an option this time, I would have thought that the ingredients used would have been monotonous and the cost performance would have been quite poor. With Japanese food of this level, you won't feel like going all the way here. Considering the level of dinner, I didn't have high expectations for breakfast, so I checked out without eating. I don't understand the high reviews. If you ask me if I'll come back again, it's unlikely. I hope that Japanese food will become more enjoyable to look at and more impressive to taste. This time, I was surprised to see that the quality of the food had drastically changed from a year ago. As for customer service, it's not particularly good, and I think it's pretty average for a place that charges this much. It's a harsh review, but it's an honest evaluation.

This is my third year of traveling once a year, and the service has deteriorated each year. I guess they think I don't need to explain it because I'm used to it, but I don't remember until I brought a bath towel into the public bath. I thought the taste was just as good this time as the chef had changed, but unfortunately the food was far inferior to what I had been used to as a visually pleasing dish. I was very disappointed that the lunch box I received when I checked out was gone, and I wish they would have contacted me in advance if the lunch box that I had looked forward to every time was gone. At the time of check-in/check-out, I may have been in trouble with other guests or due to the bad weather, but I don't think all 6 rooms were being attended to at the same time, so I would like to stay at a more upscale hotel. I wish I had done a great job.

Even though crab was out of season, it was a delicious meal.In particular, the puffer fish milt was very delicious. It seems that puffer fish are in season around here around early spring. There's not much meat to speak of.Dinner was overall bland. The ingredients are good, so it's still delicious to some extent, but I often wish it had a little more salt.Personally, I am not good at adjusting the amount of salt, which requires knowledge and imagination from the person who eats it.Breakfast has just the right amount of salt. I think the same amount of salt should be used for dinner as well. However, considering the accommodation fee, I think the cost performance is good overall.

This is one of my favorite accommodations.A place of healing and recharging for me.I usually stay in my room and relax except for meals, but this time I went to the Kashoen shop, which I heard had been renovated, and to the Fuka public bath for the first time. Not only the food, but also the hospitality of the proprietress and the staff is impeccable.I am always treated with kindness and have a pleasant conversation.Next time, I would like to come in the spring after the crab season, which I have never experienced before, is over.

I stayed for one night on Sunday, November 6, 2022, in conjunction with the lifting of the crab ban.●It was about a 7 minute walk to Sunset Ura Beach, and we were blessed with clear skies and could see the beautiful sunset and sea.●At the time of check-in, mildly sweet sweet potato yokan and matcha tea will be provided as a donation (at the front desk). There is also a free shuttle service from Yuhigaura Onsen Station (reservation required).●There were multiple types of yukatas in the drawer in the room, so I was able to wear them and enjoy taking photos on the beach. There are also basket bags. I spoke to the front desk over the phone and they happily brought me other patterns in the size I wanted.●Samue (room wear) is available in two types of fabrics (soft type and linen type), so you can wear it even to a restaurant. It's comfortable to wear.●The indoor open-air bath was always at a suitable temperature. When I started feeling hot, it would have been better to sit on the couch on the terrace, but the structure made it difficult to get back and forth.●You can also use the large public baths (2) of Kashoen, which is a sister hotel next door. Hanare Fuka had a sauna that could accommodate about 4 to 6 people (limited to 2 people due to coronavirus).I visited around 21:00, but there were almost no people and it was reserved for private use. Bottles of drinking water, cups, face towels, cleansing water, lotion, and emulsion are also available in the public bath.●If you become a member, you can create a point card worth 5% of the accommodation amount after payment, which can be used at group-run souvenir shops, etc. You will also receive a 5% discount coupon for the number of people (it seems that it cannot be used for crabs).●The onigiri bento box they gave us for lunch was simple but delicious, containing rice that looked like it had been cooked in dashi soup and various pickles.●Overall, the most disappointing point was that the service was not commensurate with the price for an accommodation that costs at least 140,000 yen for two people per night.●The person in charge of the room was happy to respond to various requests like a concierge, but on the other hand, he was often unable to immediately answer even basic questions, such as about cooking or bathing, by simply saying, ``I'll check.'' I was doubtful whether the level of performance, including the detailed movements, was worth the price. He was a young man who seemed to have only been with the company for less than a year, and his hard-working and sincere attitude made me smile. He also had a charm in his humility, and there was nothing unpleasant about him, but at this price. I felt that if we were to provide accommodation services in Japan, we would want to have staff with the appropriate level of experience and education. This is not a question about her, but about the management.Furthermore, I was never able to meet the proprietress, who was well-received by word of mouth. He seems to be busy due to renovations at another inn.●The telephone in the room is probably connected to the front desk of Kashoen Main Building, and various requests seem to be conveyed to the person in charge at Ujosoan via the front desk (Ujosoan has a full-time front desk staff). is absent).I heard that crabs are being sold at the souvenir shop "Kanihan" run by the Kashoen Group, and I had a question I wanted to ask, but they said, "Please call me directly and ask." So, even though it is a group company, there doesn't seem to be much horizontal collaboration, and I felt a little uncomfortable as they gave me three consecutive answers that didn't make sense to my question. However, when I later brought this up to the person in charge of the room, he immediately checked and told me about it. So, it seems better to get the person in charge of the room without expecting much from the front desk.●Breakfast is simple: red rice porridge, salad, dried grilled fish, miso soup, tofu, fried egg, and pickles. Other than the grilled fish, the ingredients were good, the seasoning was gentle, and it was easy to eat, but there was nothing that impressed me.There are many reviews saying that the food is excellent, but for us it was just average, and given the price (we know Kyoto's creative Japanese cuisine with good value for money, such as Iharata), we were disappointed.●The quality of the hot spring water is said to be that of beauty, but it seems that this effect is waning. It is a very ordinary simple spring, and instead of running directly, it is circulated and disinfected with chlorine.Unlike sulfur springs, the effect of warming your body only lasts for about 15 minutes, and it doesn't last long, but it's still nice to have it in your room and get warmed up right away.●Even if you like crab, you might want to avoid the "live crab full course." Other than the appetizers, there was really only crab, and the cooking methods were simple, making the most of the ingredients, such as sashimi, grilled crab, steamed crab, crab miso, and shabu-shabu, so even though I liked it, I got tired of it. This course costs over 200,000 yen for 2 people per night. The crab had a green tag. You can enjoy various cooking methods, but the steamed crab had the sweetest flavor and was the most delicious, so that was enough.●The sauna in the public bath is about 90 degrees, with only a 5-minute hourglass and music box music. There is no cold bath, but a tub of lukewarm water about 1 meter in diameter is placed next to the sauna, and you splash it on your body (there is no facility nearby to add fresh water). There is a chair for you to set up.From Ujosoan to the public bath, you pass through a narrow path and courtyard with stairs, so if you are an elderly person, you may need to be a little careful.

Four of us stayed at Soke for one night on Sunday. The service is worth the price of 85,000 yen. The head family is said to be a 150-year-old private house that was relocated from Niigata. Accommodation is for up to four people, but the living room is about 16 to 18 tatami mats in size and has a high ceiling, so you can relax. Real Pro always has a massage machine, and I'm happy to be able to use it for free. The hot spring bath attached to the room is slightly warm at 41 degrees Celsius, and you can also walk through the garden to access the large public bath. Since the main building was being renovated and we were staying on a Sunday, there were almost no guests, so it was reserved for private use.For dinner, eat small portions of many different types, such as matsutake mushrooms, Japanese green seaweed, and Tajima beef. All of them are delicious, so I end up eating them, but I feel sore after eating them. What impressed me was the chewy texture of the rice noodles. For breakfast, the red rice porridge is extremely delicious, and the taste of the bean paste is amazing. However, the taste of ginger and sesame oil is a little overdone. At check-out, you will receive a set of rolled rice balls in a bamboo skin basket and a tea set for lunch. When I was sightseeing without much time, being able to eat in the car or at the PA was helpful.
