A large hot spring hotel located in Hanamaki. The rooms are a bit old, but they are well maintained. There are many choices for hot springs. The meals are very delicious, including all-you-can-eat crab legs and various crab dishes. It is worth a return visit.

I enjoyed a bath, an all-you-can-eat crab buffet, and a rose garden on a day trip. Both the parking lot guide and the buffet receptionist were very nice.In particular, the people in the parking lot greeted me every time I entered and exited, and I felt like I was treated with courtesy even on a day trip, which made me happy.I've been to the all-you-can-eat crab buffet at another hotel in the prefecture, but the tables at Momijikan were better placed, so I was able to eat in peace without other people wandering near my seat.I was also happy to hear an unexpected live flute performance during the meal. When I looked at the calendar at the entrance to the dining hall, I saw that there were live performances of various instruments even on weekdays, which I thought was wonderful.I was able to see the deer dance at the entrance on the way back, and although I stayed for a few hours, I was able to fully enjoy it.

This is my second visit this year. The charm of the bath and crab made me come back again. I was surprised that there were so many Chinese people this time. The hot springs were so good that I took a bath when I arrived and ended up bathing three times, once after dinner and the next morning. Walking around the rose garden in the morning was also quite nice.

This is my first time sightseeing in Iwate, and I stayed at this long-established hotel. Three buildings (Hanamaki and Senshukan) are connected, and the hot springs can be accessed through a corridor. The hot springs are slightly alkaline and refreshing, so they are suitable for everyone, and although they are a little old-fashioned, they are kept clean. The main dishes this time were (crab, meat, sukiyaki), but there are many other dishes to choose from, and the portions of each dish are not too large, so you can enjoy a variety of side dishes. I stayed for 2 nights and didn't get bored because there was so much variety. The rooms have been renovated and are very clean. It can be a bit crowded as they also deal with group tourists, but the employees were very courteous and accommodating.

I have experienced the hot springs in all three buildings, and my favorite is the outdoor hot spring in the Hongye Pavilion during the day! Hanamakikan also has an outdoor bath, which is pretty good but not very spacious. The most disappointing thing should be the rose soup in Qianqiu Pavilion. I rushed to soak it and the result was a small explosion, and then there were just a few roses floating on it that had no flavor anymore...The tatami room is of medium size, and the cleaning could be improved. The toilet seat has stains as soon as you put it in, and it will fall off as soon as you wipe it. The yukata is not well placed. Except for the room, I think other areas are clean and comfortable! There happened to be a Chinese-speaking lady at the check-in counter and the service was very good!

One of the hotels in Hanamaki Onsen. This is from when I visited in October 2024.To get there, you can either take a bus from Hanamaki Station or use the free shuttle bus from Shin-Hanamaki Station, although reservations are required.Although the main focus is on hot springs, there is also a sauna and cold water baths with two different temperatures, and what makes it a little more interesting is that you can also enjoy some recreational activities. However, the main thing will be to relax and enjoy the hot springs. You can also use the hot springs at a nearby hotel, but at the entrance to the hotel you will be informed that bath towels and face towels will be provided in your room.I thought it might be necessary to reuse towels, but the hotel next door had a small number of towels installed at the entrance to the changing room. For that reason, you can dry your body with a clean bath towel every time you take a bath, unless it's in the same hotel's hot springs. They might even give you a towel if you ask. This time I had both dinner and breakfast. Both are in Viking format. In the evening, I mainly went for the crab, but when I visited just after 5pm, just after they opened, the rice and miso soup were more delicious than the crab. There was a sashimi corner, a sushi corner, lots of nice looking things like crab cooked rice, grilled food on ceramic plates, steaks, and fried food for the kids.I thought it was good for the price, but I was not impressed. I didn't do much. And just when I was thinking, ``This is what it's going to be like,'' I ate the glossy rice and miso soup, and it still left an impression on me how delicious it was.For breakfast, I thought the rice and miso soup were more delicious than the elaborate ones, and the vegetables were delicious, and the simple yogurt was also delicious. When I think of bathhouses in Iwate, I have a strong impression of the famous Iwaizumi, but the flavor was close to that, and I was glad that I had eaten something from Iwate. The schedule was to take a bath, laze around, go to sleep, and then move on in the morning, so I can't say much about the service other than the bath and food, but it was a great night. I'll come back later.

This is my impression after using it for a day trip. It's expensive at 1000 yen. It was clean and large, like a public bath at a tourist hotel. There are also some innovations, such as the tsuboyu containing honey and lactic acid bacteria. The hot springs are weakly alkaline simple springs and are not irritating, but chlorine disinfection, heating, and circulation ruin the simple springs.I would have given it a 4 star rating if there was at least a continuous flow of water without heating or adding water, but the current situation is no different from a super public bath. You can enjoy the hot water of Hanamaki Onsen at Horai no Yu, so I recommend that as it is cheaper.
