Had a wonderful time hosted by Yuichiro and the Sakyo family at their tea plantation on 16th June when we stayed a night there. The hosts made us feel right at home with their hospitality, delicious home-cooked meals and of course the variety of green tea that theh cultivated on their 300year old tea plantation. Will definitely stay with the Sakyos at Sakyoen again when my family next travel through the area!

This is a quaint little inn that will surprise you in the best ways possible. I stayed over with my spouse and daughter for one night, and we had the most wonderful and relaxing stay over the course of our two-week holiday. The hosts were extremely hospitable, ensuring that we were in every way comfortable and well fed. All our needs were taken care of very meticulously. The family is also really passionate about what they do. They showed us the tea plantation and their collection of tea.Bonus: they have a cute cat which my daughter keeps talking about after leaving.

Incredible people and tea!Stopped by for a visit off season (in December) with no reservation or any contact in advance and still were warmly welcomed by the amazing farm owner and his family. The farm owner showed us around the place, explained how everything works and since we came here to buy tea, didn't hesitate to offer us a tea tasting demonstration.I am not an expert but I do have a plenty experience with tea and I can definitely say that this tea is excellent. After about 7 months from the harvest, the tea is not as fresh as it could be and it still is so good, it leaves a smile on my face while drinking!Every tea I tried was great, but "Sumire" and "Yuyu" are simply amazing and the Hojicha from here is one of the best ones I have ever tried.Even though I strongly recommend knowing Japanese language to improve the experience, they are prepared enough to deal with only English speaking customers. The only thing that I regret is not knowing enough Japanese to express my gratitude properly.Incredible experience that I will never forget. Thank you so much!

Fantastic tea farm experience! We stayed here and had a tour of the tea farm with Yuichiro - it was great to see how the tea is processed and to drink some tea together and see how the taste differs with different brewing methods. We learned a lot! The family was so kind and patient with our Google translate Japanese, and dinner and breakfast were excellent! Thoroughly recommend this place if you want to experience a beautiful part of rural Japan. You can reach it easily on the lovely Oigawa railway. Thank you for sharing your home with us for the night!

Located up a slightly narrow road from the national highway in Kanaya, my home and shop has the atmosphere of an old folk house. Two pure white cats will welcome you in the garden, and they are friendly and fluffy as you like (lol)The tea made in our own garden is very delicious.
