Thank you for your help on our Ushu Hamakaido walking trip.Perhaps because I was staying alone on a weekday, I was refused reservations at many hotels around Kuwagawa, so I felt like I was saved here. So I am indebted to you.As you can see from other reviews, there is a certain tendency towards accommodation. However, he is a very kind person.

I visited here on a family trip for snorkeling.I asked for a room without meals and only breakfast, but the host and his wife were very accommodating.Personally, I feel that this price is a very good value for money considering the location, meals (breakfast only), rooms, customer service, etc.Of course, there are issues such as the rooms being a little old and the walls being thin and the sound of walking and voices being heard, but for this price, I think it would be better to stay at a luxury hotel instead of a guesthouse. There is running water and a clothesline in the parking space, hot showers and changing rooms right next to the entrance of the building, two bathrooms right after you go up, and a washing machine that can dehydrate you (if you want to do laundry, there is one). It costs ¥200 per trip, so it's perfect for activities. It was my first time snorkeling in Niigata, and I really had a lot of fun. This is a highly recommended guesthouse if you want to enjoy the Sasagawa River.

Good points: The food was delicious and the sea was right there. However, the voices from other rooms and the hallway were noisy.Other than that, everything was fine.

The photo is dinner. The grilled fish is thick and smooth. A nice, unpretentious inn. ¥7,500 for 1 night and 2 meals is too cheap!

It is located across the road from the sea where you can see a beautiful sunset. There was a proprietress and an old man there, but they were both very friendly and I never felt distrustful of them. The room was clean and well-kept, but the building was a little old and there were posters on the sliding doors, which seemed to hide the holes in the sliding doors. As you would expect from an inn on the Sasagawa River, the meals are centered around seafood, and there is a wide selection of dishes that will leave you satisfied. However, the taste didn't really suit me.The bath is a typical home bath with tiles and is about the size of one adult. As other people have commented, there were times when the landlady made religious invitations, such as inviting people to pray. For someone like me who has no interest in religion, I found it a bit of a nuisance.

We had delicious meals every night. The room was also spacious and comfortable. It would have been nice if the bath was a little bigger.

I wanted to try seafood mom's cooking with local flavors, so I stayed for two nights with breakfast and dinner. It is not a consecutive night stay. The amount of food is very large. I didn't feel comfortable leaving food on the second night, so I asked for less food in advance. The first night was in a room on the back street (east room) with no sea view. It's not particularly bad.The second night I stayed in a room with a panoramic view of the ocean (west room).Since Golden Week was about to end, I was able to use a large room by myself.I don't think one or two people can use the room during the season. You can see Awashima on clear days.Air conditioner in each roomI was able to feel very nostalgic at the former inn where my mother's family lived.Other reviews mention religion, but I also went there to pray.He seems to be an avid Buddhist (Nichiren sect?) believer.I think Nagano, Niigata, and Tohoku have a strong religious flavor. You can see it when you drive down the road. There seems to be no particular problem.
