The location is perfect, and the hutte, nestled in quiet nature, gives you the feeling of being in a hidden area deep in the mountains. It is a place that is still unknown to many people. It's quiet inside now.

Rather than living the same comfortable life in the city at a hotel in Shiga Kogen, this hutte will make you feel like you are in the mountains. In front of you is Nagaike, surrounded by a mixed forest of white birch, Betula birch, and cherry blossoms, and on the opposite bank of Nagaike is a mountain of larch. The only thing you can see that isn't natural is electric wires. The facility has basically remained unchanged since my last visit over 40 years ago. The building and rooms are full of the Showa era and have a somewhat nostalgic look.Nothing superfluous. There is no TV in the room. The only TV available is satellite broadcasting in the dining room. Of course there are no vending machines. So I think it's a good idea to bring your own beer and drinks. (You can use the refrigerator, so you can keep it cool.)There are no amenities either. You must bring your own toothbrush, bath towel, and bath towel. But that's what makes it fun. It makes you feel like you are living in the mountains. The room is also filled with a Showa feel that reminds you of your old parents' home. The bath is heated with a boiler rather than a hot spring, but it is clean and nice. The toilet and washroom are shared. There is an instant water heater in the bathroom, just like in the past, so you can wash your face with warm water even in winter.By the way, there is a washlet and WiFi available. (This is a big difference from the past)I was very satisfied with the quantity, taste, and hospitality of the food.I ate everything.Above all, the manager had a nice personality, so I ended up talking about old memories at night. After dinner, I took a walk along the shore of Lake Nagaike at dusk, and the scenery of the trees reflected in the calm, mirror-like surface of the lake was unmatched by Mishaka Pond. It was probably the most beautiful lake I've ever seen. I would like to teach it to Kaii Higashiyama.I am very grateful to the manager who told me about this place. In winter, you can walk to the middle of the Giant Ski Resort.https://somaclub.jp/
