I think the environment, building, and rooms are good, but the operation is completely lacking. When I ordered bottled beer, I was given Premium Malt's, but when I asked later, they also had other brands such as Kirin. The waiter doesn't even know what brands are out there. When I ordered sake, I was served sake that was made a year and a half ago. Even the local supermarkets don't sell such old items. It wasn't very cold when it reached the temperature, but I wonder what temperature it is stored at.The grilled fish was said to be grilled with charcoal, but the grilled quality was not edible. As for the menu, a heavy lemon steak came out towards the end, but then the grilled eel came out, and the dessert was chiffon cake.Is there such a thing?I had many other thoughts, but I'll leave them out.The employees were kind, but it was a somewhat disappointing stay.

This has been my dream inn since a long time ago.Two years ago, my wish came true and I was able to visit them using the Tokyo Kyushu Ferry. The room, the food, the service, everything is great. This restaurant is the most difficult to get reservations in Kyoto, and Mr. Ishihara, who is no longer in existence, is the former head chef, and we were still able to enjoy wonderful Kitcho-style meals. The room is also a two-story detached house, and you can see a wonderful garden from the first floor.

I have visited Unzen many times as the hot water is good, but this was my first stay.I arrived a little earlier than scheduled, but I was able to check in right away without having to wait. All the rooms are in one building, with the entrance leading from the lobby, the living room on the second floor, and the dining room on the first floor. The bath in the room was not a hot spring, but it had a nice cypress scent. The public bath and private bath are a little far apart, but the waitress will guide you around. There are vases and other items on display here and there to soothe your eyes. The hot water was a cloudy sulfur spring with a slight bluish tint, said to have been drawn from hell. The private time was 1 and a half hours, and it was a relaxing time. The rooms are spacious, and although I'm not familiar with Japanese architecture, even to an untrained eye I can see that the facilities are luxurious. This time it was a birthday celebration, so I had sekihan and salted sea bream. Everything was so delicious that I couldn't leave any leftovers and ended up eating way too much.Check out is at 11am.The service was impeccable. There was incense burning in the room, but it had a bit of a strong smell, probably because it hadn't been used for a while, which is why I gave it four stars. It would have been nice to have an air purifier. It's a little expensive, but I thought it was worth the stay.
