Excellent place in Kinosaki, way above expectations. The only problem is Kinosaki itself, with its main streets being constantly crossed by cars making walking that not as nice as you might imagine.

My family and I stayed at Kobayashi-ya for 1 night and 2 days! The futon was soft and fluffy, and the kamameshi for breakfast was delicious and I really enjoyed it! But when you turn on the TV at night, you can't get reception? A sentence like this appeared, and I was unable to watch any program. I'm sorry that I came here without knowing much about it, but does this become unusable at night? It was great to include that! We also enjoyed our family trip! I would like to come again if I have a chance! !

What a stunning place to stay. We stayed at Kobayashiya for 2 nights between Kyoto and Osaka and absolutely loved it. Kinosaki Onsen is such a beautiful town and we had a perfect, chilled few days. We are so glad we got to experience a traditional Japanese bedroom and the view out to the river was lovely. Dinner in the hotel both nights was lovely and we tried lots of things we usually wouldn't have chosen. All of the staff were welcoming and kind and a credit to the hotel.

Wow! Hold on, I can do it better. WOW!!! Okay, that’s a good start. My wife and I stayed two amazing nights at the Kobayashiya and we were blown away. The location is phenomenal. Looking to hit all of the mystic onsens? You’re dead center. Want to eat at the fantastic restaurants? Dead center. Want to enjoy any of Kinosaki’s lovely attractions? Yup… you’re right there. The service is unmatched. Every single human. EVERY SINGLE HUMAN, that we interacted with was pleasant, helpful, proactive, appreciative, and knowledgeable. (For reference, my Japanese is extremely limited.)This place deserves several more pages of glowing review, but I’m going to hit you with a few highlights and wrap it up.We had a series of wonderful meals. Delicious. Variant. Thoughtful. The private onsens. Clean. Intimate. Beautiful. Accessible. The decor. Gorgeous. Refined. Elegant. ComfortingThe rooms. Comfortable. Beautiful. Traditional AND modern (what?! You heard me.)We will absolutely return and we are so appreciative of the amazing experience provided by the team here.Special shout out to Abby and Eddi, who were two of our point people. Thank you!!!

Thanks to the amazing ladies at the help center for finding us a place to stay at such short notice. We only booked our hotel when we arrived in Kinosaki so we didn't get a chance to do the kaiseki dinner in the Ryokan. You definitely want to pre-book your trip to Kinosaki to get the best experience. The room is a little bit small for 3, people but I guess it did the work. We had a very nice relaxing sleep especially after the onsen. You can try the famous 7 public onsen house first and come back to the hotel for a private onsen me time. Morning breakfast is traditional Japanese style in their dining area.Worth mentioning, Kobayashiya staff can speak Japanese, English and Mandarin to make all communication easy as breeze.

We had our best time in Kinosaki onsen during this trip to Japan because of the warm hospitality we received from all staff in Kobayashiya. We arrived early instead of 3PM check-in time and they still host us while allowing us to go public onsen a bit earlier so we get to try different onsen facilities in town. We were very lucky to be able to book the famous crab dinner which was beyond our imagination. Each of us had 2 & 1/4 fresh crabs throughout the course including crab sashimi, boiled crab, crab hotpot, and crab meat porridge. For the hotel amenity, you can use unlimited in-house onsen if you prefer to have some privacy with just you and your families. The stores in town are all open late for the tourist so we can still shop around meanwhile taking many beautiful 🌸 blossom pictures at night. Overall, a very pleasant trip to this place and extremely blessed to choose Kobayashiya as our onsen hotel. We will definitely come back again and highly recommend to everyone who plans to visit Kinosaki onsen(城崎溫泉)P.S. Special thanks to Abby from Kobayashiya for being our main host throughout the stay and we really appreciate your warm welcome and assistance. Thank you very much🙏
