I toured the garden, one of the three major gardens. The people at the inn were very accommodating. Unfortunately, the autumn leaves 🍁 were almost at the end!

I can't get enough of the quiet space! !Feel the history! !Be careful of steps when entering and exiting the parking lot! !Let's go in and out by making a big turn between the small bridge part and the part that goes down to the parking lot! !

I made a reservation for my parents who are in their 70s and love gardens. (There are no online reservations, only phone reservations)I didn't stay there, but my father said it was so good that he wanted to stay again.Everything we had for dinner was delicious, and my mother was also impressed that she had wrapped up what she couldn't eat for dinner.I would also like to stay there if I have a chance!

I've always wanted to go to Gankaen. I went inside the summer grove❗The current president is said to be the 15th generation, and his wife (the landlady?) who is the 14th generation, told me the story. Enjoy delicious kaiseki cuisine while gazing at the harmonious Japanese-Western building and the summer garden, reminiscing about the good old days🎵The waiter serves the food in a timely manner and is attentive. The last meal we had was rice balls 🍙 so we could take them home. About 2 hours during lunch...it was a blissful time 🙂❣

I used it for lunch.The Shokado bento had carefully selected ingredients and was delicious, but the miso soup with tofu and greens tasted salty.I have a second helping of rice! ️

One word is that the garden is amazing❗️The kaiseki cuisine is also delicious. Unfortunately, we couldn't take a walk in the garden due to the bad weather, but it's definitely worth a visit.

It is a very historic building, and the food is pure Japanese cuisine. Everything is handmade and made with great care. The rooms are Japanese-style, and the bathrooms have traditional tiles. The price is also reasonable at 12,300 yen for one night and two meals. Highly recommended.

An inn and restaurant with a cultural property garden that is a registered monument of the country. The garden is said to have been created by the famous Minami painter Buncho Tani, and has a long history. It is said that Kazan Watanabe, a disciple of Tani, named the place by adding his own ``Hana'' to the name of the place, ``Iwahana.'' It's a garden. At the end of the Edo period, many writers and artists such as Kazan Watanabe and Nagahide Takano visited, and from the Meiji period to the early Showa period, it served as a salon for Tokyo's intellectuals. After the war, it was used as a social club and then as an inn. The garden area is located on the south side of the main house, and is structured so that you can enjoy both sitting and admiring the view from the main house and walking around the pond. The original bedrock is carved out, and the resulting rocks are used for the bank of the pond, or piled up on the slope above to create a temporary rock formation. The park is said to feature scenic spots from all over Japan, including the Eight Views of Omi, Kai's Saruhashi Bridge, and Itsukushima.
