This is an elegant inn that stands quietly in front of the stone steps of Horaiji Temple.Overall, it felt like an inn nestled in the countryside where you could spend a relaxing and extraordinary time. The only thing I couldn't help but regret was that I was told that men and women would switch places in the bath after dinner, but when I went there, it was still the same, so my wife and I checked the separate curtains for men and women before taking a bath. Ta. After a while, my wife said from the bathroom, ``The curtains have been replaced, so please move to the bathroom!''The two of us checked carefully before going in, ``There was no chance of confusing the colors of the red and gray noren.'' Even if it's okay that I forgot to replace the noren, I should have checked the changing room before I started! !If my wife had gone back to the room without noticing, I would have definitely encountered an emergency situation with a female customer in the bathtub. Judging from the current situation, this is definitely a police incident.Overall, it was a good inn where you could relax, but the one thing about the noren in the bathroom was that the owner covered it up without checking with the staff. . .The room was very clean and there was a kotatsu (Japanese kotatsu) so I could relax, but the downsides were that there was a pile of garbage on top of the hanging scroll and the toilet was too small. When I arrived at the inn, I heard that the bath was running, so I took a bath, but the outdoor bath was lukewarm and the indoor bath was too warm. Also, the inside of the bathtub was not warm and it seemed like the water was sitting still near the hot water spout. (On the contrary, it was hot after eating)For dinner, we enjoyed a delicious boar hotpot served in the hearth.I often eat wild boar meat with miso, so this was my first time trying it sukiyaki style. You can drive to the inn, but just before you get to the parking lot there is a part where the width of the car is quite narrow, so if you don't know how to drive, you might be confused.

The amount of food was so large that I couldn't finish it. I thought that with a little more effort, it would become a wonderful retro inn.I also felt the need to take care of the plants.

I had read some reviews saying that insects were a concern, so I was prepared to go, but I didn't notice any insects. Each and every one of our heartfelt homemade dishes will give you a taste that goes beyond what you would find at a first-class ryokan. It is a place where you can relax and enjoy history and nature. I went in the summer, but I want to enjoy all four seasons.

It was a quiet inn deep in the mountains. Both dinner and breakfast have a large selection and are delicious. The bath can also be used exclusively as a family bath, so feel free to use it. The room was also a Japanese style room. At night, we could hear deer, wild boars, monkey shots and the sounds of deer. In the morning, there were many monks with white cloths wrapped around their heads, blowing conch shells. It seems that some people climb the mountain once a week. I'm glad I was able to have an unusual experience.

The first time I stayed there was 40 years ago.Still, it remains in my memory. There are 3,776 stone steps (from my memory) that lead to the peak of Mt. Horaiji.I ate tempura made with pine leaves and persimmon leaves. My finger was bitten by a longhorn beetle and it bled.I revisited it after becoming a member of society. It was already 25 years ago.I haven't visited since then.I want to go again.

This is an inn in front of the gate of Horaiji Temple. There was a story that the open-air bath in winter uses hot water carried from Yutani Onsen, but this time it was regular boiling water. The food was cooked in the hearth, and the sukiyaki-style boar hotpot was delicious.Recommended for those who like old buildings and history
