I have visited Zenkoji Temple many times, but I regret that I never noticed this inn.It is located about a 7-minute leisurely walk from Zenkoji Temple's second and fourth parking lots. The appearance reminds us not only of Showa retro but also Taisho romance. It was a relaxing stay just by staying in the hotel, with the kind hospitality of the employees and the interior furnishings reminiscent of yesteryear.By the way, this time I visited after work, so I was given a plan that only included breakfast, but the rice was delicious and there were quite a lot of items, so I was "super" full. Shimizuya Ryokan left my heart and stomach satisfied.

I used it on April 29, 2024.The cleaning was done well and I was able to rest comfortably. The hostess had a homely atmosphere and the food was very good.The dining room was decorated with many books, wooden toys, etc., and was enjoyed not only by children but also by adults.There is a parking lot next to the guesthouse, so we left the car at Zenkoji Temple and took a walk.Thank you for your help. thank you very much.

Thank you for accommodating me even though I checked in late.I was given the password and connected to the WiFi, but perhaps because I was in a corner room, I couldn't connect by the time I got back to my room, and it remained unconnected in the morning.There was a futon provided, but when I opened it to go to bed, there was hair all over it, which bothered me a bit.Other than the two above, it was very good!thank you very much!

Delicious food with a classic modern design and a handmade feel! If you have a hot spring, this would be perfect, but it would be a problem if it became too popular!

An excellent ryokan, very affordably priced. The food was fantastic, especially dinner. We had sashimi, soup with dumplings, fish croquettes and shrimp gratin, among other dishes. The authentic Japanese room was large and quiet. The lady who runs it was very friendly and did her best to speak a few words of English so we were able to under each other. It is in a quiet neighbourhood, about 10 minutes walk to Zenkoji temple. We were able to make a reservation via fax.

To go to Zenkoji Temple, I parked my car even before checking in. Zenkoji Temple is a 2 minute walk away. Best of all, the food is great. Even though there is no meat, the taste and quantity are very satisfying. It's sure to fill you up.

What was great about it・The landlady's personality and consideration・The food is as delicious as a top-class restaurant.・The Showa retro feel of the courtyard is irresistible・Reasonable prices・Water server water is delicious・Freedom to go out and no curfewI would definitely stay here again.
