Now, to Kawasoko Onsen, which has been revived after the flood damage. It seems that a sauna facility was opened at the same time as the revival, so I went there.Although it's a little far away, if you talk about saunas around Kokonoe, you'll probably be in a cold hell, so I'll post a comparison with those saunas (very subjective)sauna temperatureCold hell 110-120Kawasoko Onsen, about 80 degrees (may vary depending on the day)cold springCold hell: 14 degrees sulfur cold springKawasoko Onsen - A simple spring that feels like 18 degrees?Mountain stream water?open-air bathCold Hell NoneKawasoko Onsen availabledrinking waterCold hell, you can drink the hot spring sourceKawasoko Onsen water cooleratmosphereCold hell. Couples can enter with clothes on.Lots of familiesDoes it feel lively?Kawazoko Onsen: A quiet and relaxing saunaFees and timeCold hell 2500 yen 2 hoursKawasoko Onsen 1600 yen No limitWell, isn't it like this?If you want to spend time in a sauna that has been honed to its limits, then why not go to a cold hell?If you want to enjoy a quiet time and a sauna that is gentle on your body, Kawazoko Onsen is the place for you.Well, I guess this is what you likeSince the revival of Kawasoko Onsen is not widely known yet, it is possible that it is a solo hot spring.I had fun by myself for about 1 hour and 20 minutes today. Please note that there are days when Kawasoko Onsen does not have a sauna, so it is better to call to make a reservation at least 2 days in advance to see if it is open. There was a pattern that when I called the day before, they wouldn't be available tomorrow.Of course, I think they will let you in even if you don't have a reservation, but it might be possible that if no one makes a reservation, they won't do it that day. Also, I don't know if the store clerk sees it, but I have two requests.・I would like to have a chair that reclines when you lean on the backrest, which is common in outdoor manufacturers, in the open-air space.→The number of saunas that I keep is increasing recently, so if you are going to put effort into saunas, I would like you to keep 2 or 3 saunas.・If possible, use mosquito repellent measures such as mosquito coils in the open air.→It's great to have such a rich natural environment close to rivers and mountains, but I get scared when big insects come flying at me.It's quite effective, so I'd be happy if you installed it.Well I think the price is a little highBut I think it's a good facility, and I don't know what will happen in the future, but for now, no one has noticed it, so I think it's very likely that you can spend a quiet time with a small number of people.Recommended for those who want to forget about the hustle and bustle of everyday life and relax.By the way, if I remember correctly, I think I was at Kyushu 88 Hot Springs before the flood. Also, if you are not interested in saunas, we recommend choosing a public bath.I feel like the hot water and atmosphere are better over there.

I stopped by for a hot spring visit in June 2020.It was closed for a long time due to heavy rain damage several years ago, but has finally reopened. The newly renovated and clean bathroom has three baths: hot water, moderate hot water, and null hot water. The colorless and odorless hot water has a soft smooth texture and a sense of freshness. Amenities and free lockers were also provided. The public bath fee for drop-in baths is 1,000 yen, which is expensive for a hot spring in Oita, but I think it's understandable considering the recovery from the disaster.

2024/6/17 Used for day trip bathingI was informed that it had been revived.Fee: 1,000 yenSwap genders in the morning and afternoonThe man in the morning is taking a bath from before.Women are using the new indoor bath and open-air bathIn any case, I would like to take a bath at a time that matches the time for those who have been suffering from stone problems for a long time.

I used the day trip bath.It has been renovated and unlike before, you will have to register and pay the bathing fee at the inn. From there, head to the men's and women's baths. For those who have an indoor bath and an open-air bath, there is also a sauna and a cold bath.I'm getting better and recovering. The bathing fee was 1000 yen for adults.

Used for day trip bathing1,000 yen per personSoft hot water that is odorless, colorless, and transparent, flowing directly from the source.Three bathtubs with different heights are lined up vertically, with the bathtub closer to the source being hotter and the one farther away being lukewarm. The bottom of the bathtub is lined with large cobblestones, reminiscent of the bottom of a river. People with poor legs must be careful not to fall. The bathtub is located at a low location along the river that flows right next to it, but it is an indoor bath and you cannot see the river from the bath. It is also not a structure where hot springs gush out from the riverbed. This type of bathtub has either a men's bath or a women's bath, and the other one has an open-air bath, giving it a sense of openness, but it has a relatively ordinary structure and doesn't feel like a riverbed. When I visited, the men's bath was at the bottom of the river. There doesn't seem to be any regularity in switching between the men's and women's baths (perhaps this is the needs of the guests?), so we recommend that you inquire in advance if you plan to use it for a day trip.I used it at 3pm on a Sunday, and there were about 3 other guests so I could take a bath on my own.

2024.5.18 I visited the revived Kawasoko Onsen. If you're a fan of secret hot springs from all over the country, you'll definitely want to stop by. Adults 1000 yen. 10:00-16:30 Reception ends. Rental towels are 200 yen and bath towels are 100 yen. Along with Kabeyu Onsen, which was recently revived nearby, it has an incredible number of secret hot springs. In the past, it was a mixed bath for men and women, but now it is separate. Apparently it changes randomly depending on the gender of the person bathing first. The bathtubs are well thought out and are installed so that the hot water, intermediate water, and lukewarm water circulate neatly from the piping hot source point. The atmosphere of the hot spring is wonderful. The bottom of the bathtub is packed with stones, making it a bit unstable, so be careful when moving. There is a shower, body soap and shampoo provided in the washing area, but I was disappointed that there was no mirror.

I do not stay overnight and only use the hot springs for a day trip. The bathhouse is spacious, and the temperature of the hot springs can be divided into three levels: upper (slightly hot), middle (just right), and lower (slightly lukewarm). The bottom of the large stone bathtub is lined with round stones the size of fists, making it feel like you're soaking in a hot spring at the bottom of a river. It used to be a mixed bath, but now there are bathhouses on the upstream and downstream sides of the inn building, and it seems that the men and women bathing in the baths are switched depending on the day and time of day. I went to the hot springs on the upstream side. The changing room is clean, and the washing area has shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. The hot water was very clean and felt very nice.
