I've been visiting Minakami for about 10 years, and there was a hot spring inn along the Tone River in the northernmost part of the hot spring town that had been abandoned for a long time, and every time I went there for sightseeing, I was always disappointed. Mr. Matsunoi, who lives on the other side of the river, bought it and renovated it. Opened as a new hot spring inn called "Momoyama style". I was able to use it right away.Of the old abandoned hot spring inns, only the historic Momoyama-zukuri building, located in a prime location with a view of Mt. Tanigawa, has been renovated and is now used as rooms for the new inn.Currently, it is positioned as a high-class inn that mainly offers rooms without meals (although buffet service at the main building Matsunoi can be added), and the accommodation fee is quite high at around 30,000 yen per person, even though it is only a room without meals. There are no shared spaces such as a large bath in the building, but instead the rooms are extremely well-equipped. If you have a refrigerator with free alcohol and cutlet sandwiches, you can also have a microwave and a coffee server. There is also a large hot spring bath, perfect for spending time in your room. The excellent location is highlighted by the view overlooking the Tone River from the room and the view of Mt. Tanigawa. (Unfortunately, the circulation of the hot spring had stopped the next morning, and the morning bath was lukewarm. There is a reheating function, though.)In addition, there are not many stores near the inn, so it would be best to buy food at Sun Mall, a supermarket near the roadside station.Unlike other luxury inns where you can take your time and enjoy a sumptuous meal, the appeal of Momoyama-ryu is that you can enjoy your stay at your own pace, including sleeping in early in the morning. There are plans to build a main building with a dining room in the future, so it may be possible to use it for a variety of needs at that time.
