Our family recently had the pleasure of staying at Mominoki Lodge in the Spring and it was an unforgettable experience that exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with the warmest hospitality by the owners, who made us feel like cherished guests in their home.Mominoki Lodge had cozy cottage vibes but was incredibly spacious inside (it could fit up to 12 people!). Our parents were particularly impressed with the cleanliness and upkeep of the entire property. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect, from the comfortable beds and well-stocked kitchen to the video games and toys for children. The girls in our family were pleasantly surprised to find toiletries and beauty face masks provided in the rooms. The whole place was beautifully designed, and it was clear that the owners put in a lot of thought and effort to make the experience as comfortable as possible for their guests.Nestled in a quaint Japanese town, Mominoki Lodge offered us a peaceful retreat away from bustling city life. It combined all the creature comforts and modern conveniences against the backdrop of gorgeous mountain views. A well-stocked supermarket was just a 15-minute drive away, and there were many outdoor activities to choose from—we went kayaking on an amazing lake and took a convenient drive to the Tanigawadake Ropeway.One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional service provided by the owners. They went above and beyond to ensure that our needs were met and that we had a memorable experience. From giving us insightful recommendations on local attractions to offering to accompany us to serve as translators, their kindness and graciousness were truly remarkable. We opted for an outdoor BBQ both nights, and the owner helped us start the fire and clean the grill. There was even a dishwashing service provided so we didn’t have to do any cleaning up after cooking and could relax and have family time.In summary, our stay at Mominoki Lodge was nothing short of exceptional. The combination of a stunning location, impeccable accommodation, and the extraordinary hospitality of the owners made it a perfect getaway. We wholeheartedly recommend it if you are looking for an unforgettable family trip. It truly deserves a glowing 5-star rating.

My family and I used it when we went on a ski trip to Yuzawa and Mt. Tanigawadake.It had been renovated and was a very comfortable space.It seems like you can enjoy rafting in the summer, so I would like to go there again with my family.

This private lodging is run by a very kind and gentle couple, and it was better than I expected!The interior has been completely renovated and feels like an oasis in the forest.It's on the edge of the pension village, so I didn't have to worry about the surroundings, so I was very satisfied.Recommended for people who want to experience the outdoors.

Full disclosure, I am the brother of one of the proprietors of this lodge. I recently had the good fortune of making my first stay at Mominoki for Christmas 2023. I stayed with my mom, brother, and a group of his friends from university for a total of 12 people. From the moment of first entry, you could tell my sister and brother-in-law poured their heart and soul into this project. Little details like the steamed and pressed bed sheets, custom hand built furniture and sinks, and Mominoki lodge welcome sign made our stay a unique twist of eastern hospitality with western no frills. We had a kitchen that was fully stocked with extras everyday (many of which were included), and an extreme heater that warms up the entire lodge in very little time. Take my word for it, you can’t go wrong if you want to ski and snowboard the mountains north of Tokyo in Japan.

Momonoki Pension Hotel has been hand-renovated over the years by its new owners with typical Japanese delicacy and love. We are bringing new life to this charming pension village that has been around since the Showa era.This hotel, which can be visited on a day trip from Tokyo, is a place where you can relax while listening to the murmuring of the river, with a spectacular view of Mt. Tanigawa. It is truly a treasure trove of hidden beauty created by nature.The business is run by an attractive young foreign couple who, while raising their children in the great outdoors of Japan, have a deep understanding of the spirit of "hospitality" that Japanese customers seek, and have created an unforgettable and unusual restaurant. This pension has been renovated by the current owners, and the interior is stylish and comfortable, making it a wonderful space that feels like visiting a home in America. The location is perfect, surrounded by the nature of Tanigawa.I think you can rent it out with your family and friends and enjoy BBQ and outdoor activities to the fullest!
