I stayed again at Sansuikan in Rokukyoyu Onsen for the first time in 10 years. The property is a functional inn that is full of old charm and remains exactly as it was in memory, which is unique to an old folk house that has been relocated. The interior of the building is decorated with works by Masaharu Izaki, creating a simple yet sophisticated space. The check-in time is 14:00 and the check-out time is 10:30, which shows that we want you to relax and enjoy your stay. There are also two hot springs, which change during dinner, so you can bathe most of the time during your stay, except for the cleaning time from 11:00 p.m. The hot springs are both recirculating and the smell of the hot springs is faint, so it may not be enough for hot spring freaks, but there is an indoor bath and an outdoor bath, and when the large glass door of the indoor bath is opened, it becomes semi-open air and is illuminated by the sun. It felt so good to take a bath while looking at the dazzling greenery. Also, there are 5 domestic cats and 1 outdoor cat at this inn, and they come to the room to play. Unfortunately we couldn't meet all the cats in one night, but it's also recommended for cat lovers. The meals consisted mainly of vegetables and wild plants, and each dish was made with great care and effort. The traditional image of fragrant brown rice for breakfast has also been overturned. This is an inn that you would want to stay like this forever.

An inn where you can detox both mentally and physically. After checking in at 2pm, I took a bath, read a book in the lounge, drank the alcohol I had brought with me (there is a separate charge for corkage), and lounged around until dinner. After dinner, you can read a book while listening to classical music in the lounge, and then take a bath and heal yourself in the hot springs. The food is delicious, and you can spend a comfortable time in this small inn.

This is a quiet inn for adults located in Rokukyoyu Onsen. The old folk house has been relocated, and the surrounding area is full of greenery. It's a nice inn with a natural feel and a very nice atmosphere. My mother had always wanted to visit this inn, so we decided to visit it.The employees didn't interfere too much and kept a reasonable distance from each other, which I was grateful for since I'm a shy person. The hot springs have one indoor bath and one open-air bath for men and women. There is a stone pillar in the center of the open-air bath, and when it's cold, you can warm yourself up by hugging it as you enter the hot spring. The temperature of the spring was just right and I was able to soak comfortably.I have stayed in Japanese and Western rooms, which are the cheapest, and they are comfortable because they have renovated old houses and furniture. I was able to break free from my everyday life and feel refreshed. If you choose a higher-grade room such as a Western-style room, you will also be able to enjoy your meals in a private room. The meal was simple yet attentive, and I really liked it. There are also some stylish touches, such as the chopstick rest made from seasonal plants. The meals are mainly vegetable-based, so if you go from spring to autumn, you'll be able to enjoy delicious dishes made with seasonal vegetables.Personally, the corn soup and bamboo shoot gratin were delicious as they brought out the flavors of the ingredients to the fullest✨Also, at this inn, I encountered Kanae, a ginjo sake from Ueda City, which I highly recommend as it is very easy to drink and delicious. The utensils used for the meal are made by local potters and can be purchased.Every April, Sansuikan holds a solo exhibition by a ceramic artist named Haruya Abe.I love this pottery artist's pottery, so I purchased it at his solo exhibition ✨He rarely holds solo exhibitions in Nagano, so if you are interested, please check it out!We also have several cats at our inn, so you can pet them in your room. We were entertained by a very cute calico cat.We highly recommend this inn when you come to Rokukyoyu Onsen.

An inn that is popular for its food. The food was delicious and lived up to its vegetable-based reputation. Is the bathroom a bit ordinary?
