We stayed here for two nights. The monks who work here speak limited English, so we did not speak to them after check-in. This is a shame, because it would be nice to find out a little more about their lifestyle. The rooms are spacious and in Japanese style. However, they are very noisy. You can hear your neighbors talking and also hear all the doors so bring earplugs.Dinner was in a large hall where we did not see a single monk. We also didn't see any Japanese people, while we did see them the next morning during the morning ritual. We got the strong feeling that the tourists were being separated from the Japanese tourists. A tape plays in the room explaining what you are going to eat and that you are not allowed to take photos. It felt very impersonal. The morning ritual was beautiful to experience, but all in all you pay a lot for the experience. We would recommend staying a maximum of 1 night if you would like to experience the ritual.

A very pretty temple, very quiet, ideal for visiting Koyasan, its temples and its cemetery. Very decent dinner and breakfast in a very pretty room. We only met two monks. The person who accompanied us to meals was adorable. On the other hand, the monk who "welcomed" us, if we can put it that way, was infamous. He did everything to show us that he despised us. Very rude, not looking at us. It has clearly tarnished some of that experience. We are well aware that this is not a classic hotel business, but there is a threshold that must not be exceeded.

It was my first time staying here. The first receptionist was not very friendly and I was a little annoyed.Even though it's not a hotel or anything, I'm paying a certain amount of money, so I thought they should take better care of it.My husband booked this place after reading the reviews. . .There is no refrigerator, tissues, or washroom in the room.Toilets and washrooms are shared. However, I keep the washroom and toilet clean. The room was clean, but there was a lot of noise from walking and people upstairs. Not recommended for people who are concerned about noise. It's noisy.I thought the food would be bland because it was vegetarian cuisine.Other than that, it was rich and delicious.Of course, I can't kill life.No meat or fish available at all. When I had dinner, I didn't have a teapot (cup).that? I thought so and went to ask.He told me a story for which there is no reason.I see! It became. It was a good experience, but I don't think I'll come again.I thought it would be better to stay at a hot spring inn with the same price.

The site is good in itself and has good prices compared to the temples in the area. The disappointment comes at the time of the supposed mass. There are only 2 monks “praying” out of all those that are supposed to be in the temple. It gave us the feeling that instead of monks they were actors.

There was a strong musty smell in the room, and the futon was damp.I was there. I developed a mold allergy and found it difficult to breathe and could not sleep at all.I have stayed in many other lodgings, but this was the first time I had stayed in such a bad lodging.I still go to the otorhinolaryngologist.I chose this hotel because of its convenient location, but I had such a bad experience that I will never stay there again.

We booked a 2 night stay at the Dei-in Temple in Kōyasan to enjoy a more remote, beautiful, mountainous area of Japan while experiencing the serenity and peacefulness of a temple stay. …
