It was originally a good campsite before the earthquake, so expectations are high that it will be revived as an official Snow Peak campsite.Added on 2023/9/24The reason I recently wanted to quit camping, which I had loved for many years, was because I couldn't get reservations. If I can't get a reservation like this on my precious day off from work, I really feel demotivated.I can't even feel like going to campgrounds in the Kanto area that I can't make reservations for.It would be easy to give up just by changing the first-come, first-served basis to a lottery system, but none of the popular campgrounds will introduce it.It's not that I hate camping, but I hate the current reservation system for campgrounds. Outdated. I'm planning on traveling to hotels until the boom goes away.

It was under construction when I came to preview it a few months ago. Now that the temporary housing has finished its role, the site is in the process of returning to use as a campsite. It seems that the Snow Peak campground will open around the fall of 2023!It seems that Snow Peak has been selected as the designated manager for the Rikuzentakata Auto Campground Facility Development Project, which was publicly solicited by Iwate Prefecture. This will be the first time in Iwate Prefecture that Snow Peak will open a directly managed campground, and the campground is scheduled to open in 2023.It looks like there will be a camp field, store, direct produce, tourist information, multipurpose plaza, community space, etc. There is also information that there will be three mobile house-style accommodations called ``JYUBAKO'', which were jointly developed with architect Kengo Kuma. I'm looking forward to it.
