I stayed here from January 2nd to 4th, 2023 to ski and snowboard at Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort.[In one word]The location is convenient, so you won't have much trouble getting to the slopes, and you can easily come back during lunch to eat cup noodles to save money. The food is delicious and at this price, both children and adults will be satisfied with the quality and quantity. The landlady is quick-witted and makes for a comfortable stay, and the owner (who I think is the owner) also frequently clears the snow from the parking lot, so there are no problems. This guesthouse is recommended for enjoying the snowy mountains with family and friends.[Reviewer composition]Me (man in my 50s, snowboarding), a family friend (20 years old, skiing), my daughter (middle school student), and my son (snowboarding). Honda minivan with all-season tires (plus tire chains were not needed just in case).[Location]It's great for enjoying the snowy mountains and the outdoor baths. Midway point between Nagasaka slope and Karasawa slope. To go to Nagasaka Gondola in the morning, it is easier and faster to go down the slope and use the "Nagasaka Contact Pair" at Karasawa Slope to go to Nagasaka Slope, rather than going up the hill directly (there is a lift next to the pair lift). There is a ticket office). It is a 3-4 minute walk downhill from the guest house to the pair lift. To return to the inn, it is quick and easy to go down the Karasawa connecting course (piste map number 41) from the Nagasaka slope, slide down to the road in front of the hot spring facility ``Sparina'', and from there walk downhill to the guesthouse ( 4 minutes walk). There are no sidewalks, so be careful of cars (especially when it's snowing). If you want to enjoy the outdoor baths, you'll have to go down the hill a little, but you can walk on a mostly flat path to Nitta-no-Yu (the newest of the outdoor baths), which is about a 5-minute walk. Also, if you walk for another 4-5 minutes, you can easily access Juo-do no Yu. If you walk for another 2 to 3 minutes, you can reach the downtown area with souvenir shops, liquor stores, and restaurants (about a 10-minute walk directly from the guesthouse).【meal】It's not luxurious, but I'm very satisfied. The price including two meals is very reasonable. Rather than being luxurious, the food is delicious and filling. Refills of rice and miso soup are free. Furuzuke Nozawana came out almost every time. It was delicious. The main alcoholic drinks at night are Nachu and Sake. There was no whiskey (highball or rock) or shochu available, so if you want to drink it, it might be a good idea to bring your own and drink it in your room. If I put it out on the window railing, it would always stay cool as a natural refrigerator. To save money, I went back to the hotel to eat cup noodles for lunch. At that time, if you ask the guesthouse for hot water, they will provide it to you free of charge. It might be a good idea to let them know before you go out. There is a drink vending machine next to the lobby. Even if you forget to bring your own soft drinks, low-malt beer, beer, and sour drinks, there are ways to get drunk, so it's safe for drinkers like me (lol).【facility】Necessary and sufficient. We stayed in an 8 tatami room with tatami flooring for 4 people, and it was spacious enough. Since it was a corner room, it had good lighting and felt spacious. A gas fan heater is installed, so you can stay comfortably without feeling cold. If you do not use the outside bath, the hours for using the indoor bath are limited, so if you wish to use it late at night, it may be better to consult the inn in advance (standard usage hours: 16:30-21:30). There are three faucets in the washing area (in the men's bath), and it seemed like it would be comfortable to use as long as you didn't overlap with other customers (I only use the outside bath, so I'm guessing here). There are about 5 washrooms, all with hot water. There was a coin laundry, and there was a box of powder detergent for guests to use (it looked like it might be useful, but I haven't confirmed it). It took 40 minutes to use the washing machine for 400 yen and the dryer for 100 yen (I just looked at it but didn't use it). There was a communal toilet on the second floor, and it was comfortable with a heated toilet seat and a washlet. There is a coin locker in the basement next to the parking lot (400 yen per time, so I used it without putting any money in because it didn't seem like anyone would come lol) and a changing room, so after checking out, you can leave your luggage here or leave it in your car. I was able to leave my luggage there and change my clothes when I came back. Adjacent to this basement changing room was a guest room with limited daylight. I didn't see them using it, but I guess it's a backup for when the room is full and there's nothing we can do about it (unconfirmed). It looked like it could be used as a change of clothes, but I didn't want to borrow it without permission, so I just opened the door and took a photo. There was a coffee server in the lobby and we received free coffee (there were also tea bags). The drying room was large enough to hold more skis and boots than the number of people staying. I was able to enjoy the second day and beyond with the boots that had dried thoroughly overnight. The dining room was a tatami-style room with tatami flooring, and there was only one table that could seat 6 people. If you have difficulty sitting on the floor, please consult with us at the time of reservation and we may consider it (unconfirmed). There were three friendly dogs tied up next to the parking lot. Although he occasionally barked, he was generally quiet and popular with the guests. Also, as you can see from the images, there were comic books everywhere in the building. There were a lot of different titles, some with the same titles, and others with the titles arranged randomly, but I thought it would be a good way to kill time if you returned from the slopes early and had a relaxing time (I didn't like the ones that were on the eye). I was reading the attached Phantom Burai out of nostalgia lol).I was a little worried because there weren't many reviews and there were a few negative comments, but I was able to have a fun time with my family. This is the perfect inn for those who want to enjoy snowy mountains while staying close to the ski slopes at a reasonable price. During the meal, I talked to other guests, and they were regulars who come from Kansai every year.If I write a good review like this, I might have trouble making a reservation, but I think there are other users who want to know more detailed information, so I thought it wasn't fair that there were so many negative reviews, so I decided to write a review. Ta. I hope this is helpful.
