I have stayed at Anshuku four times. Twice in 2019 when coming and going to temple 38 and them again the same in 2024. A convenient days walk away from the temple, the accommodation is near the mouth of the Shimonokae River where facilities for pilgrims are starting to get scarce. It also is virtually next door to a combini. If you know you are doing a round trip from the temple, Anshuku will allow you to leave your main back pack for an easier couple of days.

The location of the B&B is very convenient for travelers. There are bus stops and supermarkets next to it, so I can take the bus to No. 38 Kongofukuji Temple on rainy days because of my injured knee. The breakfast and dinner at the B&B are sumptuous, allowing travelers to eat nutritiously and healthily. I stayed one day apart. I originally thought that the power bank was left behind at the B&B on the first day (4/30). When I checked in again on the third day (5/2), the kind-hearted landlady knew about it and enthusiastically helped to search for it, but she couldn't find it. When I went back to Taiwan to wash my backpack, I found that the power bank was left in a small corner inside the backpack... Thank you boss and boss lady. I will always remember your simplicity, enthusiasm and kindness. Thank you for taking me with you when I travel. Give me warmth.

The old man stationed in the dining room is so annoying! It's better to retire early. …

I used it on my pilgrimage. To put it in one word, it's not good. It's a bit disappointing that there's no Wi-Fi these days. I'm not sure if the room is clean, but the most unacceptable thing is that the kitchen is too dirty. There was a slight smell when I walked by it.The owner of the inn was giving a lecture on how to tie shoelaces, but I thought he should clean more thoroughly than that.

This is an inn with a restaurant and an inn. Even a single woman can stay here with peace of mind! It is often used by foreign pilgrims. Might be interesting for people who want to interact with foreigners?

It was Golden Week and all the rooms were fully booked, so I was able to stay in a room without a TV. It was clean and I was able to use the washing machine, which was helpful. The host's advice on how to tie shoelaces (I didn't get any blisters!), how to dry wet shoes (sure!), and the route (also correct!) made me think this was a guest house for walking pilgrims. . The salt musubi with pickled plums we received was very delicious. I stayed overnight without meals, but breakfast was served starting at 5am. Thank you very much.

It's an old hotel. The rooms are clean and the toilets are clean. However, there is a strange smell when walking through a dark corridor from the first floor and past the kitchen. Breakfast and dinner are served. There is only one bathroom with a bathtub for taking a bath and a washing machine. You need to take a shower quickly. There is no hot water after about 8 o'clock. The boss will not be in the hotel. If you need anything, you need to call. There is a LAWSAN convenience store 50 meters away. The landlady was very patient and communicated with me through a translator. Thank you very much.

Personally, from a hygiene perspective, huh? There were a lot of things like that. It didn't feel very safe for a woman to stay there alone.
