Authentic accommodation run by a Tokyoite who got tired of the big city and turned to ShikokuThis place is a haven of peace and serenityDon’t forget to look up at the sky at night to admire the starsHowever, it should be noted that the accommodation is basic on certain points, notably the shower and toilets which are outside. However, this does not diminish the experience. Please note that our host can prepare a meal if requested in advanceAll payments, including that of the night, are made by cash! Finally, to get to the accommodation, do not take National Route 439 from Kochi CityThis mountain road is very dangerous (one of the most dangerous in Japan with the most accidents) and especially not at night, remembering to take off your sunglassesI recommend!

The owner of the B&B is attentive and chatty, and he and his two cats run the B&B in an old folk house. The location is facing the Shimanto River, with a private riverside in front. The most unforgettable thing is walking to the riverside with the delicious breakfast handmade coffee in hand, and drinking it leisurely in the morning light and the chirping of birds.During the day, we have light meals, and in the evening, we stay at a B&B. The hand-made cooking is excellent, using local ingredients. It is said that the B&B owner’s cuisine is famous in the neighborhood, and he often shares recipes with nearby housewives. The B&B only accepts one group of guests a day, and the facilities are all in the style of local ancient houses. It is a very rare and high-quality experience.

I stayed there for a few nights and I can't say what I liked best. The host is a very friendly, kind and very good company. I was lucky enough to be able to eat with him and spend many hours talking. The room was so beautiful and so comfortable! One of the best I had during my stay. And this calm... It was so pleasant.I highly recommend it to you.

My daughter and I stayed at Daisuke's place in Shimanto on our recent Japan holiday. It has been the highlight of our trip. Despite being told by the host to not go on the 439 road we unfortunately didn't notice that's exactly where Google was taking us and had a very scary 30min.The futons were the most comfortable beds so far, and there was plenty of space. Dinner provided and made by the host was delicious and fresh with a surprise seafood platter by his friend. After a day making knives at a local workshop we returned to join Daisuke for dinner at good friends. They were some of the loveliest and liveliest people were have met, amazing food and amazing company all night.Overall, we are definitely going to be returning!

Three adults and one baby were welcomed very warmly. When I asked for breakfast to be included, they kindly agreed to my request even though I had to leave early in the morning, and provided a high-volume and high-quality set despite the low price. It's not an easy trip, so I won't be able to return to Kochi anytime soon, but if I ever get a chance to go to Kochi, it's a place I'd like to include in my itinerary.

I stayed at Daichan's house for 4 nights and 5 days even though it was only 15 minutes by car from my home. Because I wanted to fast by myself. It was my own way of fasting, but for me, it was the best five days! What's the best? I was able to walk along the old moss road, there were no artificial sounds from my room at night, only the sounds of insects, and although I was fasting, I didn't eat, but the natural air was delicious. It's about being kind.

I accidentally booked this B&B near the Shimanto River. The B&B is a century-old house in the countryside, where you can experience the Japanese rural style. The boss is very friendly and chatty, and has many interesting life stories to share. The breakfast was delicious. The old house is very clean and comfortable. During the epidemic, it seems that it only accepts one group of guests a day, so I feel at ease. The boss has two black cats and will let them out to play if they are not afraid. The toilet and bathroom are in a small house next to the old house. Although it is a little old, it is still clean. We spent a pleasant and peaceful night in the countryside at this B&B.Remember, if you drive down from the north, take the coastal road and don’t drive onto National Highway 439, one of Japan’s three coolest roads! The owner is very nice. You can experience a night in the traditional Japanese house in the quiet country. The toilet and bathroom are not in the house so you have to walk outside to get the the bathroom. It's quite old and simple but the owner Keeps it clean.I really had a good time here (and a very nice chat with the owner). And Will Definitely Come Back if I Visit Shimantogawa!Remember if you drive here from north, do not take japan national route439! It ’s a very differently!
