This might be one of the last remaining authentic minshuku experiences in this area. Ayako , which runs the place, is the nicest lady you will meet. They speak only Japanese, but google translate bridges the conversations! They run activities for a very modest price, such as mushroom foraging and fabric dyeing! All completely authentic and everything collected was later eaten at dinner! She cooks like a chef, and the fruits and vegetables are collected from her garden, whereas the mushrooms are from the forest! They are kind, warm, and the room is very wonderful to sleep in. In short, if you want the real experience, send them an email, they'll even come pick you up from the train station (no buses here!).We were sad to leave, and they made us feel like home when we stayed at their home. I strongly recommend staying at their place, as they are honest, kind, and very warm.

It's a place you'll want to return to again and again. Not only is the nature surrounded by mountains and mountains wonderful, but the owner and his wife are truly wonderful people, and I admire them. They tended the fields, picked mushrooms, and made clothes from growing cotton.I was able to experience a lifestyle where I am connected to the land, receiving blessings from it, and giving it back.I visited with my two children, and the husband taught me all sorts of fun things, including catching freshwater crabs, catching dragonflies, bees, secret bases for children, astronomical telescopes, fireworks, and Obon events. The mother's loving mother's meal was so delicious that even a child who always had a hard time eating had to ask for a second helping. We serve seasonal vegetables and pickled mushrooms with pesticide-free rice, homemade miso, and soy sauce. The venison cutlet was also very delicious. The two of us have deep connections with the local people, so if you come here, you can buy local products and tell us about nice places. We also stayed in a bungalow. It was a simple facility with no lights and only mosquito nets, but the nights were cool and comfortable even in summer. They let us use the outdoor cooking area, and it felt like a private campsite. Maybe the timing was just right, but when I went outside in the middle of the night, I saw a lot of shooting stars.I would like to keep it a secret because I would be in trouble if it becomes difficult to get reservations, but it was so nice that I decided to write about it.

In the spring, you can pick wild vegetables, and in the fall, you can pick mushrooms. By the time you return home, you will have collected, eaten, and learned the names of at least five types of wild vegetables or mushrooms. Be careful of the big cat tied to a string at the entrance of the guesthouse. It's very ferocious. Don't accidentally reach out to pet it. I work as a guard dog.
