Atarashiya wasn't new at all (lol), but it was a comfortable accommodation for me♪ There are two hot spring bathrooms, and only one larger bathroom has a shower. The hot spring water is refreshing and feels good (*´∀`)♪

The retro Showa era room of four and a half tatami mats is on the contrary “Atarashiya”! You can bathe in the indoor hot spring bath 24 hours a day. Full of old-fashioned emotion.

Along the Main Street in Yunomine onsen and opposite of the public onsen. The owner is very friendly and the dinner is wonderful. It’s a very old building so a good experience of old Japanese house. We enjoyed the meals.

Make a reservation for the night without meals the day before. The hostess was friendly and answered the phone politely. They were very helpful in giving me a lot of information during my visit. …

We walked the Kumano Kodo and stayed overnight. The atmosphere of a nostalgic hot spring inn. I could see the hot spring water from my room window. …

You cannnot expect your privacy. You can lock the room but you hear the voice or noise from other rooms. This inn located in front of the famous Tsubo-yu is a Japanese authentic one. It appropriates to this occasion you follow ancient Japanese Pilgrimage. You would spend overnight with unknown guests in the silence. The landlady is a little bit shy. She never meddle you. Food is good. After breakfast she brought me a cup of coffee using the water of hot spring. She sent me to the bus stop for me not to misstake the bus with great smiling.

Right across from Tsuboyu, a world heritage site. The Tsuboyu bath is reserved on a turn-by-turn basis, so I got a number tag and waited in my room. …

I stayed here because it was a guesthouse right in front of Tsuboyu. …

Simple, clean, Japanese style tatami room. The owner was extremely accommodating and even filled our wet shoes with newspaper to dry them after a day hiking in the rain! …

I have to say that we did not have much expectation about Minshuku Atarashiya, as reviews by previous customers have been mixed, and the more recent one are actually quite negative. …
