Recently stayed here as part of the Kumano kudo hike. It is a bit out of nowhere as you need to catch two buses to koguichi and there are no convenience stores or anything around. It has the basics. Rooms were relatively clean and tidy. Kitchen was well equipped with kettle, pan, rice cooker and a large area for a sink. One gas top doesn’t work, so you only have two.Overall quite basic and does the job. Just make sure you are ok with insects. No one to check you in or out so not much service. However they did give a nice pack of popcorn for us.No locker(I couldn’t figure it out) on the door.

Experience country life at a rental innIt's exciting for families who are used to the outdoors, but I wouldn't recommend it for families who prefer a convenient lifestyle and those who hate insects. This time I checked in late, so I wasn't able to make a bonfire, so next time I'd like to have more time to dig deeper into the fun of this inn.thank you very much.

Also, go slowly. I want to spend time in an old folk house.

This is a guest house where you can have an eco-friendly experience. There is also an open-air Goemon bath.

This is an old house that has been beautifully renovated, with in-house power generation and a stylish portable toilet that the owner made himself♪ It's a very relaxing space, and I would recommend it to foreigners as well!

I have stayed in many places around the world, but this was the best guesthouse. There were no inconveniences typical of old folk houses, and it was very comfortable, including the water fountain. The building material, cypress, and the scent of cedar always surround you, making you feel very calm.I stayed for 4 nights, but even that wasn't enough. . . This is a guesthouse where you can feel the owner's personality and attention to detail. There is a beautiful river flowing around the area, you can take a walk, there is an old shrine, and there are no shops or people like the main shrine, so I think it will be irresistible for those who like such an environment. The children also seem to have had a great influence.Part of the kitchen was shaped like a bar, so it was fun to play at a bar or a late-night diner with my family ( ´∀` )I think it is perfect for those who are going to Kumano Kodo. There are many buses from the nearby main shrine that can take you to nearby tourist spots.I msut say this is cut above the best guest house I"ve ever stayed. You can rent the whole house to yourself, to enjoy the quality time with your firend or family.everypart of the house,is so clean and convenient ,have amazing hot bath tub also. The whole buidling has the aroma of cederwood ...which helps you to relax....we stayed 4nights, it was great experience ....Big kitchen, with Help Yourself BAR COUNTER where you can pretend yourself as bar tender.! hahahaThere are some liquor there, cost the same as you buy in supermarket!Environmnet is also good. There is beautiful river fand shirine within few minuites walk.About 15 minutes by car, there is HONGU.In Hongu thre is bus terminal to take you pretty much everywhere around the area or other parts of Wakayama. There are some amazing outdoor hot springs near there.
