I stayed for 1 night from 2024.03.16 (Sat) to 17 (Sun). (15,000 yen per night)This is a very popular guesthouse, and I made a reservation on Rakuten Travel three months in advance on December 16th. Check-in starts at 14:00, and when I arrived 5 minutes early and opened the door, it seemed like they were still preparing, but when I called, they let me in.As for my impressions, the food is just as luxurious as the reputation. It has far exceeded my expectations. The luxurious sashimi dinner includes sashimi of spiny lobster, and seafood is served in a variety of ways, including fried and simmered, so everyone can have enough to fill their stomachs. I think this dinner alone is worth more than 10,000 yen.Just to say, the bathroom and room are pretty normal. It's a normal guest room, and it feels like a normal bathroom in a slightly larger house. However, the food is so outstanding that everyone will leave feeling very satisfied when they leave. I felt that the quality of this food was comparable to that of a high-end inn. If you stay here, you'll understand why it's so popular.Well, the building itself is not an ordinary house, but a spacious house like an old mansion, and a building that gives you a sense of taste and history. For breakfast, the miso soup made with spiny lobster was really delicious.Payment is only in cash, but if you can make a reservation, I highly recommend going there.

I finally managed to get a reservation. I was very satisfied with the seasoning and quantity of the food. However, as mentioned in the reviews, the hostess' customer service attitude was not very good. At dinner, I asked for a refill of rice, but I was told that it wasn't an all-you-can-eat option, and the door slammed shut. Even the morning drop-off felt curt. If they had a little more hospitality, I don't think they would behave like that. I'm very disappointed.

Onjuku in Sotobo, Chiba Prefecture is one of Japan's proud three inuku (as I was told when I met my husband).Mataem, an inn serving local cuisine, is the house where the owner was born and raised. This is a guest house that my husband's mother, who came to Ehime by chance, had been running for a long time.I haven't been able to go for many years, so let's celebrate Beiju at Mataem! I asked the whole family.Currently, my husband's cousin and his wife are working there. All of them served an amazing bowl of 8 servings that was eye-opening. This is amazing ❣️ Too amazing ❣️❣️I love Onjuku's giant abalone sashimi 😄 I'm impressed by the deliciousness I haven't seen in a while 🥺 The stickiness is also great 😀The spiny lobster, the boiled golden sea bream, the flounder, the bonito, and the fish are all delicious \(^o^)/The amount was so much that I couldn't finish it, giving me a 200% satisfaction rate. The grilled fish, the miso soup with spiny lobster for breakfast, and the freshly grilled horse mackerel are all great!More than any hotel's food, the visual impact, the excitement when you eat it, the atmosphere of the inn, and above all, the seascape of Sotobo is amazing😃There are lots of surfers! The orcas jumping at Kamogawa Sea World nearby is a must-see.We also met wild muntjac early in the morning. It's a great resort that can be reached by train from Tokyo. If you love seafood, the sea, abalone, and lobster, please come and enjoy Mataem's cuisine. The day I visited happened to be my cousin and his wife's birthday!Happy 🎉 Happy 🎉This is an inn I would like to visit again 😊

Actually, I haven't asked. After reading your post, I would like to say a few things. There is a note about the landlady, but it is a guesthouse. If you expect top-class customer service from the landlady wearing a beautiful kimono and makeup, you should stay at a high-class inn. I think the landlady has a lot of work to do as a staff member at this inn. And as humans, there are days when we feel tired and uncomfortable. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to eat delicious food at a low price and stay in a clean and well-cleaned room? On a personal note, my parents' family business was doing well and I was helping out with my work, so I had the luxury of doing so. Go to a hot spring once or twice a month. I traveled overseas with my three children during spring, summer, winter vacation, and Golden Week. When I stayed at an inn, I stayed in the best room, traveled by train in a green car, and only flew first class when flying overseas. My husband drove a Benz 600AMG and I drove a BMW 420, but since we were traveling with a child, we went out in our second car, the Elgrand. From someone else's perspective, it was the ultimate luxury, but I didn't have high expectations for the service or the taste of the food. I had decided to choose the accommodation and flight company myself, so any success or failure was at my own risk. I think the best rooms at hot spring inns at that time cost around 70,000 to 100,000 yen per person per night. I will never go there again. I am the one who decided to make this my permanent home. Now that my family's business has closed down and I myself have failed in real estate management, I feel nostalgic for those days, but I thought I would visit Mataem someday. Personally, if I feel uncomfortable, I have to say it right then and there. A carefree old lady came to stay the night! I thought it was me (lol) After reading everyone's posts, I wanted to go and eat some delicious food. I'll add more after listening. By the way, when choosing a place to stay, I always read the ``posts'' and my family's business was a fish wholesaler.
