I am visiting a group of important traditional buildings across the country, but it was about a 20-minute uphill walk after taking a bus from Enzan Station and getting off at the nearest bus stop. Unfortunately, since it was a weekday, Moshi Moshi House was closed, so I sat on a bench with a nice view and took a break. The tour route was also shown inside the village, which was very easy to understand. If I had to say, it would have been nice if there were more information boards with explanations for each point of interest. I think it would have been even better if I could get a glimpse of the sericulture industry in the past.

We had a BBQ outside, but since we were far away, I had to go back and forth to get sauce and tissues about 10 times, so I was tired. It would have been great if we could do it in front of the porch.Because it was an old house, I could hear creaking noises coming from the ceiling at night, and I felt like someone was watching me from the guardrail.

It is located in the center of Kamijo Village, which has been designated as a traditional building preservation district by the Agency for Cultural Affairs. It was built in the late Edo period, about 200 years ago, but the kitchen, bath, and toilet, as well as the room and the outside hearth, have been beautifully renovated, making it a very comfortable stay! Since it was summer, we didn't use the inner hearth, but we thoroughly enjoyed BBQing on the outside hearth, cooking rice over wood in a kettle, nagashi somen noodles, and fireworks! It was a very nice old folk house! The only downside was that it had one mattress on the tatami mats, so my lower back hurt.It only healed in a few days, but I would be happy if you could double up on the mattress!
