The other day, I visited for lunch for my father (95 years old) who loves sweetfish. This was my first time eating ayu from the Yura River, and since it was a natural ayu, it had a wonderful taste and aroma, and the dishes were well-crafted, making it a feast for the eyes. After I got home, my father informed me that he had forgotten his hat. I asked them to pay on delivery and they sent it to me, but they paid for the shipping cost. I have no complaints about the hospitality and I would like to visit again next year.

Early September 2024Attracted by the rough texture of wild sweetfish from the Wachi River, I ordered the full course of sweetfish kamameshi for 8,400 yen.The raw ayu had a lighter taste than I expected, and to be honest, I would have preferred salt-grilled, but it was a once in a lifetime experience. The bone crackers and homemade Sansho tsukudani were also delicious!I was surprised to find that the building was old and the private rooms looked pretty bare, but the proprietress and female employees were gentle and nice people.

Founded in 1888, this is a teahouse restaurant serving ayu (sweetfish) cuisine, and is a restaurant where you can enjoy wild sweetfish from the Wachi River, which was praised by Rosanjin Kitaoji as the ``best in Japan.''

I was very impressed with all the dishes I had never eaten before. It was a small anniversary, and the sparkling wine I requested was local Tamba wine. This was also delicious✨Thank you very much to the landlady for being so kind to me 🙏
