I used Autosite during the three-day weekend in October. It was crowded on the first day of the holidays, but I think it's good that you have self-check-in, so you only have to stay at the reception for a short time, so there is little waiting time. The designated site is a large area located in a remote area along the river. There was plenty of room even when setting up a large tent. Cast pegs are recommended since the ground may have hard soil.Although the site was a little far from the restrooms and kitchen, I was able to relax and not worry about my surroundings. It gets pitch black at night, so the starry sky is very beautiful in the middle of the night. Therefore, it is essential to carry a headlamp or light when going to the toilet or kitchen.Although it was a bit early for the leaves to turn, the scenery around the pond was nice and we were able to enjoy a quiet camp in the forest.

"Komadeike Campsite" is located halfway up Mt. Yatsugatake, at an altitude of 1,300m, so I thought it would be cool, but it was humid, perhaps because of this year's incredibly late summer heat, or perhaps because of the cloudy sky. I was sweating while setting up the site. However, the mornings and evenings were just the right amount of cool and I was able to spend a comfortable time there. As the name suggests, the free site was divided into several areas centered around ``Komade Pond'', and there were also auto sites and cottages.Since it was the middle of a three-day holiday, the flat area along the pond was full by the time we arrived, so we set up on high ground along the river on the opposite side of the pond from the administration building. It was a nice place to hear the sound of the stream and overlook the pond, but a group of young people who had checked in late had set up their site right in front of us, so we ended up having dinner while looking at them. There seemed to be a few other soloists, but they were all set up in the gaps between large tents and seemed cramped. I strongly advocate that there should be a solo-only site.Although some of the facilities were old, they were generally in good condition, and there were coin showers, flush toilets, and kitchens with hot water in each area, and the price was cheap, so I think it's a good campsite. The administration building is new and there are plenty of rental items, and the staff is friendly and responsive (most of them are female), so even beginners can stay with peace of mind.Silent time starts at 8pm, but there's no way the group of people who are having fun will be quiet at 8pm. It's pretty noisy until around 11pm. Still, it was really quiet late at night, and it was scary. Lighting is minimal, so a handy light is essential even when going to the bathroom. It seems like they have a sauna facility attached, so the reception area is covered, so I guess that's a bit of a problem. If you want to buy things, you can go down to Yachiho town and there are supermarkets and convenience stores, so if you come by car, you won't have any problems. There is also a hot spring in about 15 minutes by car.The mirror-like water surface of Komade Pond in the early morning was truly beautiful. The coming autumn leaves season might be even better.

This was my second visit, following last year, and I was able to stay near the pond for the first time. It's a really beautiful pond, and I'm impressed by the efforts of the staff to maintain its beauty 🤩, and I want to come again next year ❣️

We stayed for one night on a weekend in September.Reserve Auto Site B. Because there was a tree in the middle of the plot, it was difficult for beginners to pitch the tent and tarp (rental Snow Peak Amenity Dome M and Hexatarp) in a balanced manner. The toilet and shower room were clean, so I felt safe using them. The coldness in the mornings and evenings that I was concerned about wasn't so bad that I needed to use a warmer or hot water bottle, but on the contrary, the temperature rose around 5am and I felt hot. The location around the pond is so good that I would like to visit there next time.
