It is well maintained and feels clean.Although he has a tendency to be blunt, he is kind. It's an old building that looks like it's been around since before the war.I think it's better not to wear slippers because the floor is clean.Bathrooms are shared, but arrangements have been made so that guests do not overlap. Since it rarely overlaps, I feel like I'm basically renting it out.The toilet has a flush toilet seat on the 1st floor. The 2nd floor is Japanese style. You can rent a washing machine, but it is a two-tank type. Even if you hand wash it in the bathroom and hang it to dry indoors, it will be dry in the morning.Senbei futons in winter feel heavy. There's no food. At a convenience store in front of the station or a nearby restaurant. All restaurants close at 8pm, but bars remain open. The partition from the hallway is a single shoji screen. I'm sure some people will talk about security, but there's nothing you'd be worried about losing other than your life. These days, stolen goods have legs. Even if a thug comes in, it will be safe in a sense because it will be completely hidden. In a private hotel room, you can scream without being noticed.I think anyone who doesn't have nostalgic values will be dissatisfied.

This is probably the cheapest inn in Takahashi, close to the station. This is a so-called pure Japanese-style inn that has been run by an elderly couple for many years. The bathroom is shared, and if you open the sliding door from the hallway, you'll be in your room right away. I can hear surrounding sounds clearly. I guess it can't be helped structurally. The room lock is an old-fashioned lock that turns a screw and cannot be locked from outside the room, so be sure to take your valuables with you when taking a bath or going out. There is also a dining room, so it seems like meals were served there in the past, but now it seems like you can only stay overnight without meals. It's OK if you're the type of person like me who doesn't care about a lot of things, but if you're not, it might be a pain.

The previous night was at Takahashi Kokusai Hotel, but since I couldn't stay there for two nights, I stayed at Midori Ryokan. It was 4400 yen for a room without meals. …

An 88-year-old grandfather kindly welcomed me.I was able to get out of the rain, have a warm bath, and sleep on tatami mats with a futon. A Japanese treasure from the early Showa era.If you need anything else, you should go to a regular hotel. Good old-fashioned hospitality with the bare minimum necessary for a stay without meals. The best overnight stay.
