It makes me feel like I'm suddenly reminded of my own countryside. The flow of time was also very relaxing, unlike in the city. This time I came during the rainy season, but I would also like to see what it looks like in winter.

I went there in early January because I wanted to see Shirakawa-go in the snow. It was a warm winter with little snow, making driving easy. I chose Hakusanso because it is a little far from Shirakawa-go, but it has a hot spring. There were two groups of guests that day, so we were able to reserve two hot springs for ourselves. The food was also great. Hoba miso is exquisite.

It is located a little far from Shirakawa-go, so you should be able to get there by car without any problems. It was snowing just then, so I was thrilled to be able to stay in a gassho-style inn covered in snow!I can't recommend it if you are looking for the services of a hotel, but the warm and welcoming atmosphere of a guest house, where the customer service and father manage the meals, and the food is exquisite! Please enjoy the deep flavors that you can't find in the city, such as bone sake and wild vegetable tempura.I've also bathed in the natural hot springs many times. It was also a place I wanted to stay at.Thank you (*´▽`)

The courteous and attentive service of a luxury hotel is comforting, but here there is a different kind of comfort.I feel like I am in the casual everyday life that has been going on for a long time. The feeling of not being fully understood is also intriguing. People are very warm. The human hospitality warms your heart and allows you to relax without straining your shoulders. This is an inn that makes you think about whether normal is the best and what it means to be human. My favorite inn.

It's much bigger than the gassho-zukuri private house in Shirakawa-go last time, and above all, the bath at Hakusanso is the best, with the hot spring flowing directly from the source! This area looks like a house for a large family! The char sashimi and foil-grilled scallops are delicious with miso 😋 I think sake 🍶 goes better than beer 🍺! There is a bathing tax of ¥150 in addition to the accommodation fee and two meals.

Having grown up in the mountains, wild vegetable dishes and river fish dishes are not unusual to me, but the seasoning that was different from the local flavor made it feel fresh.Delicious food and warm bathsI drank with other customers (lol)

It was homely and made me feel like I was at my grandma's house in the countryside.Since this place is not within the Shirakawa-go village, it was very quiet and I was able to experience the time of being in a mountain village.I was very impressed that most of the dishes I wanted to eat when I came to Hida were served (river fish, hoba miso, Hida beef, etc.). I think it's cheaper than 10,000 yen.The hot spring is not large, but it made my skin smooth and felt good.I deducted one star because the smell of the tap water bothered me, but overall it was a great stay. I would like to use it again.
