My partner and I spent a month traveling through Japan, and without a doubt our best experience was spending a night here. Everything was perfect, from the kindness and hospitality of the landlady, to the dinner and breakfast she prepared for us. Everything made by her and all the vegetables and fruits taken directly from her garden. She is charming and made the experience unforgettable. The location is perfect, it is close to Shirakaw-go, but away from noise and light pollution, so you can breathe incredible peace. There is also an onsen nearby, which you can enjoy for free with some tickets that she gives you. Highly recommended to enjoy a night there.

I stayed there for one night in the fall. The autumn leaves on the way to the hotel and the atmosphere of the mountains were beautiful, making it a very special two days! The landlady was also very warm and made me feel like I was visiting my grandmother's house. I was able to taste a lot of local foods, and they gave me lots of explanations, so I was able to enjoy them to the fullest!

They were very polite from the moment we met them to the time we saw them off, and I really felt their sincerity. The food was also very luxurious, especially the combination of Hida beef and the proprietress' home-grown vegetables, which was truly exquisite!I was also encouraged to take a walk at night, so I took a walk around the area and noticed the brightness of the moon, which I don't have in the city, which made me feel very at ease.I highly recommend it as it will make you feel like you have come back to your grandma's house in the countryside!

``The area was rustic and the air was clean. The building and house of the guesthouse were over 100 years old, and we could see many of the splendors of historic Japanese old folk houses. There are fields around and the area is close to the forest. Because of this, it feels good to wake up in the morning to the sound of birds singing and the light of the sun.The home-made soybean dishes prepared by the proprietress are good for your body and will energize you. It's the perfect place to relax and enjoy the natural air! This is one of the inns I would like to visit again. ”Masataka Baba

We stayed there when the first snow fell and enjoyed meals while watching the flames of the wood stove. The home-cooked food had an extraordinary feel. It was fun to burn wood in the stove until late at night.

There is no problem if it is a small group of 1 or 2 nights. It is better to avoid long-term stays or large numbers of people. If the capacity is exceeded, the landlady will go crazy. The landlady is quite old and the food is not good. There is no such thing as serviceIsn't it fine if it's to "enjoy the inconvenience"?I was so uncomfortable that I changed accommodations.A lot of promises have been broken and it's the worst.I've been to many hotels on business trips, but this is definitely the worst for me.

More than 10 years ago, I was traveling in this area. I suddenly needed a place to stay, and while everything else was expensive, this was the only one that was cheap, so I stayed there. It is an ordinary two-story wooden house. It makes sense that it's cheap, and while the other inns are hot spring inns (Hirase Onsen), this inn doesn't have hot springs, and is located alone on the edge of a village on the opposite shore of the hot spring town. There was a small ski resort nearby, so I thought it was a ski inn. It's probably crowded during the season, but at this time (I think it was May) there were no other customers, just the old lady who lived at the inn. He only came to help with dinner and then went home at night, leaving me alone at the inn. The entire house is reserved. The room is spacious with a verandah and an 8 tatami room on the second floor. All the rooms were empty so I could move between them freely, but it was a little scary at night. Old books covered in dust are placed carelessly in the hallway, giving it the atmosphere of an abandoned house. At night, I could hear the loud cries of frogs coming from the rice field in front of the inn.If you want to enjoy solitude to the fullest, there is no better place to stay than this place. It was only once, but it left a deep impression on me.

You can enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere of coming to your grandmother's house at this old-fashioned guesthouse. It opened in January of this year, and is apparently run by the wife alone. The wife was a very friendly and cheerful person, and she told me many stories about life in the village, so I had a really fun time with her ( ´∀`)The rice was delicious, as the hostess served us local cuisine made with plenty of vegetables that she had grown herself! !We recommend this inn for those who want to spend a relaxing time enjoying nature in Shirakawa-go.
