It takes about 5 hours to get there from Gozaishi Onsen.A mountain hut that serves as a base for climbing the Houou Sanzan (Jizogatake, Kannondake, and Yakushidake). The rooms, service, and location are all rated 5 stars, but since this is just a 5 star rating for a ``mountain hut,'' it doesn't mean you'll receive an incredibly high level of service, so that's not a bad thing.``We have a roof to protect us from the rain and wind, and they also serve us food (curry), and if you make a reservation, they'll even make you a bento box.'' It's up to you whether or not you're grateful for this. There is a cute dog, probably the pet of the staff at the mountain hut.As of May 2024, it appears to be temporarily closed due to reconstruction work, but it is expected to reopen in the fall of 2024.Last time I had to retreat midway due to bad weather, so I'd like to use this as my base for revenge.

A ridiculous hut that does not accept lost items at all.No wonder it doesn't have a good reputation.

Usage in October. It was already quite cold so I put on my raincoat and got into my sleeping bag. The climb from Gozaishi Kosen was quite tiring. Maybe it's because I'm tired from driving.I was a little surprised to find that I could barely connect to the Docomo line when I selected a location at the tennis court. Softbank was no good.It was this mountain climbing that made me think about buying down jackets for the mountains, even if I didn't mind Uniqlo.

The climb from Aoki Kosen is quite difficult, but this mountain hut is in a good location, about an hour from Mt. Jizogatake in Houou Sanzan. It has an old-fashioned feel in a good way. The hutkeeper is also very kind. There are also many beautiful flowers blooming around the hut, making it a particularly recommended place during the flower season. I'm also happy that water is so plentiful. There is a spot called Fujimi Rock about 5 minutes walk from the hut. The view of Mt. Fuji from here is wonderful.

2023/7/25 A mountain hut located along a stream that takes 1 hour to climb steeply to Mt. Jizogatake (famous for its obelisk, a pinnacle of granite), one of Japan's 100 Famous Mountains and the Phoenix Sanzan. (Directly climbing Mt. Kannongatake without going through Mt. Jizogatake takes 1 hour. 40 minutes). The building is a little old, but all the staff are kind and polite, and above all, everyone's cheerfulness makes this a wonderful mountain hut. Dondokosawa Route 5 hours and 45 minutes of steep climbing from the Aoki Kosen trailhead, 5 hours and 5 minutes on the ridge path from the Gozaishi Kosen trailhead. Reservations are required for both hut and tent nights, but reservations are not required for tent nights on weekdays. Staying in a tent costs 2,000 yen per night (including toilet usage fee), and of course the hut is close to a water source and toilets. The tent site is made of granite sand, and the pegs stick comfortably and firmly and are easy to remove. Pegging hammers available for rental. There are no stones, so be sure to bring your own pegs. With cold cola. The time values listed above are reference times for climbers = course times. Happy climbing everyone!

It's a big mountain hut. The tent field was spacious and there were many tents. There is a main building and an annex, and I stayed in the annex, but there was enough space for one futon to sleep. However, the ceiling was low and I could hear the people moving around above me. Dinner was curry rice with free refills.

One of nicer huts with polite and friendly staff. They have an attached camping area on a flat grassy area. Surprising the spring water here is free for all and delicious. Post Covid pre-reservations are required for staying in the hut and they serve an early breakfast. Cup noodles, cold drinks, beer,Japanese sake and wine are available for sale for day trippers. As all cooking is still done with firewood - hot water is not available or sold. Gratis (¥200) toilet use is available for all. There are some nice benches and picnic tables available for hikers to rest and grab a snack before the final push to Jizodake.

I used it for a night in a hut. There was sufficient distance between each other and I felt comfortable.Above all, I could feel the hospitality of the staff, and I was very impressed. When I asked about having lunch in the rain, they set up a tarp for me.
