Pleasant hotel in the middle of Dieburg city center. I was in Dieburg for 3 days on business and had a double room for single use. The room was very clean and spacious. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was also very tasty with plenty of choice. I'd love to come back.

Good location in the town center; Train station within walking distance • very narrow check-in window on weekends (2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.); Friday to Sunday only cash payment and no breakfast on offer • no room reservation possible via hotel portals • very nice, friendly receptionist • small but clean room with no extras (no kettle/coffee machine, no minibar, very few sockets) with a tiny TV (private law Channel only from program position 303) • very narrow bed with simple mattress (single room) • shower with temperature fluctuations without shampoo - only shower gel • price/performance rather disappointing • hotel answer: “Basically, we can only recommend doing appropriate research in advance to determine your own expectations to fulfill” – I’ll leave it like that •If you expect more comfort, you should spend the night in Darmstadt and take the short journey to Dieburg (public transport about 15 minutes)

The last time I was at Mainzer Hof was in 1972 as a high school student at Gorthe-Gymnasium for carnival. The property has always struck me as time-honored. Now, in 2023, there was a family reunion in Dieburg and I needed accommodation. The first thing that caught my eye on Google maps was the Mainzer Hof. All right: there was a phone number and I had a phone. A super friendly and competent contact with the reception. Then the moment of truth: warm welcome, the room was well warmed - at the end of December. They turned on the ancient, cast-iron radiator in the morning. Instead of an impersonal wardrobe, there was an ancient, worn-out and recycled cupboard in the niche, just like my friends and I had done in the 1970s. And a wooden sliding door, like the ones my grandparents had in the 1930s, led to the spacious shower. Everything super clean and working. Everything in and around the bed was super comfortable. Free WiFi that actually works!... All of this right in the historic center of Dieburg. That was perfect! If you want to explore Dieburg and the nearby Odenwald, this is your address!

I spent 2 nights there. The reception was very nice and accommodating. The room was so-so, the bed was quite sagging and very noisy.Another thing I haven't had in any hotel before was that you couldn't turn the shower on to cold water, as there apparently was only one pipe for several rooms. I can't explain it any other way. Because you could turn the faucet however you wanted. In addition, for a long time you could hear the guests in the room opposite talking and laughing.
