Half board with two nightsThe youth hostel is located on a hill and looks very impressive from the outside.Unfortunately, there is no parking space and you also have to look for it on the adjacent street. We were very lucky and found one straight away. The rooms are simple, have their own toilet and another bathroom with shower. The mattresses were very comfortable. Just as a heads up there are no shutters. Our room was very clean. The breakfast buffet was small, but had everything you needed. As well as lactose-free and vegan dairy products.Unfortunately there was no dinner both days. There were little to no real vegetarian alternatives on offer and unfortunately it didn't taste good.Unfortunately, the bistro no longer had the things we wanted on the second evening, but the service person was very committed. For the most part, the staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. You can walk to the city center in Diez in about 2 minutes and half an hour to the swimming lake. There is a regular train to Limburg.

Very friendly staff and the boss was super accommodating as we have slightly limited mobility. Despite the fact that there was a lot to do, we were always helped well and our stay was really pleasant. For a youth hostel it is really clean. There are towels and bed linen, which is not the case with some JHs. The breakfast is good enough and even intolerances are taken into account and, for example, vegan alternatives are also offered. You shouldn't expect too much, it's definitely recommended for a trip with the family or just for staying overnight. There is an elevator and you can also get a barrier-free room. However, getting to the hostel can be achieved using public transport with longer distances. There are few parking spaces, but it is still highly recommended.

Impressive place with a lot of history making it a great place to further explore the area. Definitely recommended. The standard is high in terms of rooms and service. When it comes to eating, vegetarians in particular have to make compromises. About once we only had rice with dry broccoli. The only sauce contained chicken. Vegans are not thought of. But the staff is very helpful and friendly. For children there are board games to borrow and a small play area. Overall a great place with a lot of atmosphere.

Even under the new management, we once again spent a great weekend at the castle. The food itself and the barbecue on Saturday evening were again great and the friendliness of the staff makes us happy to come back next year.
