Beautiful complex of the main house (comfortable sleeping accommodations) the barn (kitchen and common room) and tiny houses on trailers (some still in built) at the very end of the Rathen kurort. Mine was only a one night stay while cycling the Elbe trail but would not hesitate to stay there for a longer period as it's in a great location for hiking, cycling or just chilling enjoying the incredible views. Train station nearby and the hosts are very friendly and helpful.

We stayed with our dog in the camping area and it was if not the best camping place we’ve been to in Germany, free showers, super homey vibe, friendly owners, kitchen… we loved it!

Wonderfully located. Class with the “barn” as a common room. Additionally with a great, equipped kitchen. I slept in room 10. Very comfortable bed! And the absolute luxury: I had it to myself! Breakfast is a varied muesli buffet with fresh fruits and a good coffee to wake up the tired spirits. Thanks! It was nice with you!

That was a special kind of stroke of luck: we were cycling and hadn't yet chosen a place to sleep for the night, as we didn't really want to stand between campers, so we cycled past the Hinterland Hostel. We got there too late to check in, but got a little briefing and sorted out the rest the next morning. Unfortunately, our wet bike gear didn't dry because it wasn't warm enough in the barn and it was still very humid outside, but the tent meadow got sun first thing in the morning - that made up for it all ;) the coffee in the morning with HaMi was also great ! Thank you that there are people like you and your concept in the region - we felt so comfortable!!

A really beautifully located, quiet hostel on an old farm. Only a very short walk from the health resort of Rathen and the Bastei. You can also use the ferry with the mobile guest card, which you receive in return for the tourist tax.We stayed here for one night on our Malerweg hike. Booking on the website is super easy, as all available rooms are clearly displayed. We received a very friendly welcome and everything was explained to us in a calm manner. The barn for community activities with kitchen, table football, wood oven, grill, board games and table tennis table is well equipped and very cozy.We slept in a double room (unfortunately the shared room was already fully booked), it was very clean and tidy.For €80 without breakfast and shared shower/toilet, one of our more expensive stays, but still a good deal due to the barn's many options.We felt very comfortable.

Very nice hostel, the service is great and the staff is very nice! We spent a few nights on the tent meadow and had breakfast at the muesli buffet and used the common room. Everything is super equipped! The train line directly at the Gruendstuek is a little louder, but otherwise the location is really great! The other visitors were also consistently nice.

We went camping, it was great! Super clean communal washroom, great kitchen and nice atmosphere. The common areas were lovingly decorated and you just feel comfortable. Those who are sensitive to noise should definitely bring earplugs, as on average a freight train passes right next door every 10 minutes at night.

A wonderful place has been created here that offers by far the most beautiful place to stay right on the Elbe. Everything was always very clean, including the common areas. I particularly found the kitchen, which is available to everyone, very practical and beautifully designed. The coffee was also delicious and there is a general atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable. I would definitely come again!!🤗

I have now ridden the entire Elbe cycle path. I spent the night on the tent meadow. It is by far the best hostel / tent option on the Elbe cycle path. Super friendly, great loving renovation, swallow barn with swallows (be careful otherwise they'll hit you on the head), well-equipped kitchen and seating in the barn, very good sanitary facilities. Really only recommended. Thank you for the friendly welcome.

Very relaxed atmosphere, friendly, calm and functionally and lovingly designed. I was there with the tent and was able to really enjoy the infrastructure with the large barn and inviting courtyard. I highly recommend for one or more nights. I really liked the organic muesli breakfast that was offered, even with oat milk and all the washing up liquid and soap were of organic quality! Top!
